TOWN BOARD MINUTES
BUDGET MEETING - OCTOBER 20, 2003
5 : 30 P.M.

The meeting was called to order at 5 : 45 p . m . by Supervisor Ric Dietrich to review the Fiscal Year
2004 Tentative Budget .
Highway Department Review
Sue Howe reported that there were errors in the Highway Department proposed figures and in the
Modified Budget 2003 . Adjustments were noted for correction by the bookkeeper. A request to
raise the office equipment line to$ 1500 to allow the purchase of a computer for the Highway
Superintendent.
Bill Hall reported that he was not pleased that he is the lowest paid Highway Superintendent in the
County and Sue Howe pointed out that the highway secretary salary is in error as the increase is more
than the 3 . 1 % allowed for Town employees .
The account for equipment repairs is over budget due to major repairs .
The Board discussed possible methods of funding for the purchase of new equipment and the salt
shed . No decision was made .
Planning- Comprehensive Plan
Sarah Newman and Susan Beeners requested an additional $400 for the Comprehensive Plan line .
Additional monies may be needed for implementation of some of the Strategies in the plan .
West Danby Water District
There were no changes to the West Danby Water District proposed budget. Of major concern is that
the water plant does not have a generator hooked up for emergencies .
