TOWN BOARD BUDGET WORKSHOP
OCTOBER 22 , 2001

Councilpersons : Joel Gagnon, Norbert Nolte, Gladys Varona-Lacey
ABSENT :
Supervisor Inman (excused)
Others Present:
Carol Sczepanski - Town Clerk
Janice Johnson - Youth Bureau Representative
Ric Dietrich - Ithaca City Youth Bureau Representative
Community Council Members : Bill Halton, Eileen Wright, Patty VandeBogart
The meeting was called to order at 7 : 05 p .m . by Deputy Supervisor Naomi Strichartz.
Review of Community Council Budget:
Janice Johnson from the Youth Bureau explained the funding for matching funds available from the
State and Local Government that can be reimbursed . The programs for 2002 are similar to 2001 .
There is funding for the Pond from the State and can come through Community Council . An amount
of $ 1 ,267 as a recreation swap for the pond is reimbursable through the County Municipal Jobs
Program. The $ 1 ,211 for services and $3 , 183 for the jobs programs comes directly to the Town .
There were no changes made to the Community Council Budget.
The Board reviewed the General Fund Budget and adjusted the Recreation Partnership Account
A7149 .400 from $7 , 800 . 00 to $7 ,679 .00 as this is the actual cost of the program .
Motion to set Salaries in General Fund
A motion was made by Councilperson Gagnon and seconded by Councilperson Varona-Lacey to set
the salaries of the elected officials as in the adjusted Tentative Budget.
A roll call vote on the motion resulted as follows:
Supervisor Inman absent.
Gagnon Aye
Nolte Aye
Strichartz Aye
Varona-Lacey Aye Carried
Motion to set Public Hearing Date for Fiscal Year 2002 Preliminary Budget
A motion was made by Councilperson Gagnon and seconded by Councilperson Strichartz to hold the
public hearing on the Preliminary Budget for the Fiscal Year 2002 on Thursday, November 8 , 2001
at 7 : 00 p .m .
A roll call vote on the motion resulted as follows :
Supervisor Inman absent.
Gagnon Aye
Nolte Aye
Strichartz Aye
Varona-Lacey Aye Carried
