REPORT of the Planning Board Vice - Chairman to the Town Board April 10 , 1978
The Planning Board met in regular session on April 4 , 1978 , over an
overly - long Agenda and heard the following matters with the following
result :
1 . PUBLIC HEARING : Consideration of Site Plan Approval ' of Self - Service
Gasoline , East Hill Plaza , Town of Ithaca Tax Parcel 6 - 62 - 2 - 1 . 121
( Knowlton ) .
The changing of ownership of the property on the corner of Judd Falls
Road and Ellis Hollow Road from Mark Goldfarb to Groff Associates
( Knowlton ) was noted and the recommendation to the Town Board for site
plan approvals of said Goldfarb property , now Groff Associates , adopted
by the Planning Board on March . 21st , 1978 , stands .
Mr . Knowlton had been prepared to present an alternate proposal for
the corner site which he had just purchased , but he withdrew it when
the Planning Board evidenced disapproval . Mr . Knowlton then withdrew
his proposal which was the subject of the Public Hearing for self -
service gasoline on the East Hill Plaza property .
2 . PUBLIC HEARING : Monkemeyer Cluster Proposal for approximately 31 acres
on Danby Road , Town of Ithaca Tax Parcel 6 - 42 - 1 - 13 : 2 .
After lengthy discussion , Mr . Monkemeyer ' s cluster proposal was post -
poned for further hearing at some future date in order that Mr .
Monkemeyer may present to the Planning Board more detailed engineering
plans and drawings showing :
( a ) Topographical grades ,
( b ) Drainage ,
j ( c ) Road cross - sections and grades ,
( d ) Lot layout taking into consideration terrain ,
all as prescribed by the Town Engineer .
The Planning Board agreed that Mr . Fabbroni should send Mr . Monkemeyer
in the form of a letter a summary of what is required before further
consideration can be given to this proposal .
3 . PUBLIC HEARING : Consideration of Rezoning Proposal for Lands on
Northeast Corner of Danby and Coddington Roads from R- 9 to Business
A , Town of Ithaca Tax Parcels 6 - 40 - 4 - 2 , - 3 , - 4 , - 5 . ( Vasse and
Berggren ) .
The Planning Board resolved unanimously to recommend that this
proposal for rezoning from R - 9 to Business A be taken to the Zoning
