Schwan : I am writing in response to questions raised at the Public Hearing held on May 9th and to outline ATC ' s commitments to the Town upon our purchase of the Cerracche Television system serving the Ithaca area . A . Line Extension The system shall extend cable television service to any residents of the town within six months of receipt of a reasonable request for such service provided however that there shall be no obligation to extend service unless there is a minimum of 20 households per mile commited to subscribe to the service . _ Mileage will be measured from the end of any distribution cable . If a project does not pass 20 subscribing . households per mile , the system shall bear its prorata' share of the = current- . aerial construction cost -based .-on ._:the . .actual -number . of- potential subscribers per mile divided by 20 subscribers per mile. . The remaining • construction costs shall be borne on a prorata basis by each actual cable television applicant within the project . After completion of the project , as additional subscribers are connected to the plant extension , the original subscribers will receive prorate refunds of the construction charge . At such time when there are 20 subscribers per mile on the extension , all of the prorata shares will have been refunded . At the end of two years from the completion of the project , the applicants are no longer eligible for refund and the amount paid in construction costs will be credited to the plant account, of the system. i t Mr . Schwan Page Two Be The system will provide whatever public access time is required on a specific channel and in addition we will make available cablecasting equipment which would include portable access equipment and instruction in its use to be available to all desired users in the area served by the Ithaca system We are firmly commited to providing the best possible cable television service to the residents of the Town and we are looking forward to a long and mutual relationship .
