Supervisor Morey wanted everyone to know about the upcoming "bridge party" for the
opening of the temporary bridge in Groton City. He also want everyone to know
about the next Groton Business Association meeting where County Administrator, Joe
Mareane will be talking about Cuomo Is proposed property tax freeze.
Supervisor Morey said that the road preservation law has been edited and sent to the
attorneys for their review and any other needed edits.
Supervisor Morey referred to Clerk Scheffler's recent communication to the Board
concerning the fact that a moratorium is designed to be passed to address a specific
land use. He commented that Attorney Monty had agreed with Clerk Scheffler's
interpretation.
Supervisor Morey had asked everyone to review the 1988 Town of Groton Local Law
Regulating Solid Waste Management Facilities. A long discussion followed with some
disagreement on how to proceed with updating the law. It was decided that
everyone should look at the law again and that the attorneys should be consulted.
No formal decisions or resolutions were made.
