The Town Board gathered first in executive session prior to
open meeting , During the executive session Supervisor Schwan read
the Town of Ithaca ° s offer , dated September 30 , 1974 , to Security
Mutual Fire Insurance Company , to purchase the property at 126 East
Seneca Street , Ithaca , New York .

In open session Supervisor Schwan read an excerpt from the
minutes of a special meeting of the Board of Directors of Security
4 Mutual Fire Insurance Company held October 2 , 1974 , as follows .
RESOLUTION ACCEPTANCE OF OFFER - TOWN OF ITHACA
PREMISES AT 126 EAST SENECA STREET , ITHACA , NEW YORK
j WHEREAS , an offer has been submitted to the Corporation b

the Town of Ithaca , dated September 30 , 1974 , which offer
is annexed hereto * made a part hereof and made a part of
these minutes , for the purchase of premises at 126 East
Seneca Street , Ithaca , New York , together with certain fix

tunes and building equipment , for the sum of $ 138 , 500 . cash
and
WHEREAS , said offer is the highest offer received from all
hinterested parties , now , therefore , be it
RESOLVED , on motion made by H . E . Simpson , seconded by
M . H . James and unanimously carried , that the offer of
the Town of Ithaca be and the same is hereby accepted *
that the President and Secretary of the Corporation be
and they hereby are authorized to execute any and all
documents required to complete the transaction , and be

RESOLVED , that the Secretary forward a certified copy of
this resolution to Supervisor Walter Schwan of the Town of
Ithaca .

It appeared that the% Town of Ithaca has the money _ available
to close the transaction with Security Mutual Fire Insurance Company
for the purchase of the property at 126 East Seneca Street , Ithaca ,
New York , to be used as a Town Hall . Supervisor Schwan said revenue
sharing funds will be used .

RESOLVED , that the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca ratifies the pur �
chase offer made by ilTalter J . Schwan , dated September 30 , 1974 , for
the purchase of premises known as 126 East Seneca Street , Ithaca , New
York !!, owned and occupied by Security Mutual Fire Insurance Company ,
and authorizes the Supervisor of the Town of Ithaca. or anyone duly
acting in his place to close this transaction in accordance with and
subject to each and every term and provision of the purchase offer as
submitted , except that the deposit shall be deposited by the seller
in an interest -bearing account and any interest accruing thereon shall -
be credited to the Towh df Ithaca . The sum of $ 6 , 925000 is hereby
appropriated for the purpose of the cash deposit ,
