AUGUST 7 , 1967
The following are minutes of a Regular Meeting of the Town Board
held in the Town Offices at 108 East Green Street , City of Ithaca
at 4 : 00 P . M . D . S . T . on Monday , August 7 , 1967 .
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT : Supervisor William B . Kerr ; Councilmen
Andrew W . McElwee , Joseph N . Mayer , Jr . , Harry N . Gordon and
Harry U . Baker ,
Also Present : Superintendent of Highways Marion Morey , Lozier
Engineer James Dunlap , Planning Board Chairman Noel Desch ,
Planning Board member Walter Schwan , Mr . Stauffer from Winston
Drive , Journal Reporter Roger Langley , Clerk Myrtie Hewitt .
• RESOLUTION 93 - WARRANT
Voted resolved to approve warrant dated August 7 , 1967 in the
following amounts ;
General Fund. - $ 6 , 16 . 38
Highway Fund - - - - 35187 . 20
Slaterville Road Sewer - - - 75 , 843 . 41
RESOLUTION 94 - MINUTES
Voted resolved to approve minutes dated July 10 , 19670
RESOLUTION 95 - MAGISTRATES CONFERENCE
Voted resolved by motion made by Supervisor Kerr , seconded by
Councilman Baker to authorize Justice F . R . Hartsock to attend
the Annual Conference of the New York Magistrates Association
to be held at the Granit Hotel Kerhinkson , Ulster County , New
York , September 10 - 13 , 1967 .
RESOLUTION 96 - HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENTS SCHOOL
Voted resolved to authorize Superintendent of Highways Marion
Morey to attend the Highway Superintendents School in Niagara
Falls September 1967 .

Mowing - Northeast Recreation Area
Mr . Stau r and Mr . Schwan from the northeast were present
and informed the Board that the mowing had not been done at
the park as they had assumed it would as authorized at the
Board Meeting held in April . There evidently was some mis -
understanding as Mr . Morey indicated he was waiting to hear
• from someone as to when the first mowing was needed . It
wqs decided that mowing should be done every two weeks .
Mowing -Water Pump Station - Christopher Circle
A letter to Mr . Kerr from Mr . Hannan , City Water Department
indicated that the grass needed mowing badly at the water pump
station on Christopher Circle , as it was causing the building
to be wet much of the time from the continuous rains that
have been accuring this summer . Mr . Morey was authorized by
the Board to take care of this mowing also .

RESOLUTION 97 - SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS
Upon a motion made by Councilman Mayer and seconded by Council -
man Baker it was unanimously voted that Mr . Leroy W . Frey - 124
E . Court Street and Mr . Charles Clarke , 128 Spencer Street
be appointed as crossing guards for the Northeast School Area
at the monthly rate of $ 100 . as set at the April 10 , 1967
Board meeting .
PUBLIC HEARING- - Construction of Mains , East Ithaca Water
Dis rlc
A hearing was called to order by Supervisor William B . Kerr .
Affidavits of publication and positing were presented .
Residents attending from the area involved were Mr . Id. eman and
Mr . Barnes .
The improvements proposed consist of construction , and maint -
enance of a lateral water main in a portion of Pine Tree Road ,
Judd Falls , Road , Ellis Hollow Road in the East Ithaca Water
District which will be connected to an existing 6 - inch water -
main in Pine Tree Road , belonging to the East State Street
Extension Water District , also fire hydrants and appurtenant
installations . Petition is on file in Clerk ' s Office ,
Attorney Buyoucos checked the original petition to varify
that required signatures of property owners ( 50% ) were in
order as well as one half of entire frontage of said street .
Since no objections were voiced the resolution was duly passed :
RESOLUTION 98 - LATERAL WATER MAINS - EAST ITHACA
WATER DISTRICT
Upon motion made by Councilman Harry Gordon and seconded by
Councilman Harry Baker it was unanimously voted to approve
construction of lateral water mains in the East Ithaca
Water District in the Town of Ithaca .
RESOLUTION 99 - DEMOCRATIC ELECTION INSPECTORS
Voted resolved to approve Mrs . Jean Strout , 204 Cayuga Heights
Road , and Mrs . Barbara Cotts , Northview Road as election
inspectors whose names did not appear on list submitted at
June meeting of the Board .
RESOLUTION 100 - BOND RESOLUTION- SNYDER HILL ROAD
WATER DISTRICT
Upon motion made by Supervisor Kerr , seconded by Councilman
Gordon the following resolution was duly voted and passed : •
Bond Resolution dated August 1,.7 , 1967
A resolution authorizing the construction of _ a water system
to serve the Snyder Hill Road Water District in °: the Town of
Ithaca , Tompkins County , New York , at a maximum estimated cost
of $ 200 , 000 , and authorizing the issuance of $ 200 , 000 serial
bonds of said Town to pay the cost thereof .
RESOLUTION 101 - FINAL ORDER ESTABLISHING SNYDER
HILL ROAD WATER DISTRICT
Upon motion made by Councilman Mayer , seconded by Councilman
