HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB Minutes 1966-07-11 WATER DISTRICT EXTENSIONS - SNYDER HILL AREA Mr . Dunlap reported that a preliminary study of the cost of extending water lines so that improved facilities would be available for Ideman ' s and Artificial Breeders as well as thel' East Ithaca district would involve a cost of about $30 , 000 . as well as a cost of about $125 , 000 . for the construction of a new tank on Snyder Hill . The district would be extended to make it contiguous with the Slaterville Road area Sewer District now planned . A unit charge would be approximately 092 . 00/unit . The Board felt that this charge would be reduced considerably if the Backner land is sub-divided . TOUR OF NORTHEAST SEWER AND ELLIS (HOLLOW ROAD SEWER DISTRICTS Mr . Dunlap asked the Town Board members to tour the newly constructed • districts in the northeast area of the town on July 7 , 1966 at 4 : 00 P . M . Fuess . . APPROVAL OF MINUTES Councilman Mayer offered. the following resolution a-nd moved . its adoption . RESOLVED that the minutes of the June 13 , 1966 meeting be approved. . Seconded by Councilman Baker Ayes - Kerr , Mayer , Baker and McElwee Noes - 0 Carried. , WATER AND SEWER DISTRICTS The Board reviewed. with Mr . Dunlap of Lozier Engineers , Inc . the progress being made in the server and water districts under construction and contemplated in the town . BOYNTON SUB- DIVISION PLANS Mr . Ben Boynton presented sub - division plans for property located off the Elmira Road . He stated that he is interested in the extension of water and 'sewer services to the area and. the development of the area will depend on these services . The Board. suggested that the plans be, presented to Planning Board at their • meeting on July 12th . ORDINANCE - PARTIAL TAX EXEMPTION The Town Board requested that Attorney Buyoucos prepare an Ordinance to allow for partial tax exemption for certain persons over 65 years of age and having limited. income . The Ordinance will be considered by the Board at the next meeting and. a. public hearing will be sch &ddled 6:t � that - : . time . WARRANT Supervisor Kerr offered the following resolution and moved its adoption : . RESOLVED that the following bills be paid . Highway Fund Bills # 190 through # 224 in ' the amount of $37 , 689 . 98 end General Fund Bills # 255 through #315 in the amount of $4 , 577 . 20 . . SLATERVILLE ROAD AREA SEWER1DISTRICT - FINAL ORDER In the Matter of the Establishment of the Slaterville Road Area. Sewer District inithe Town of Ithaca , County of Tompkins , New York . WHEREAS a map , plan and report relating to the establishment . of the proposed Slaterville ''IRoad Area Sewer District , prepared by competent engineers , duly licensed by the State of New York , was duly presented to and filed with the Town Board and an Order was duly adopted by the Town Board on the 21st day of February , 1966 for the hearing of all persons interested in the matter on the 7th day of March , 1966 at 4 : 30 o ' clock P . M . on that day at the Town Offices in the City of � Ithaca. , Tompkins County , New York , and- a hearing by the said Board haveing been duly held at such time and place and it Navin" been duly resolved and. determined , on the 7th day of March , 1966 , following such hearing that the Notice of Hearing was published and. posted, as required by law and wa- s otherwise sufficient and that all the property and property owners within the proposed district were benefited there - by , and that all of the property and property owners benefited are included within the limits of the district and that the establishment of such distblet was in the public interest and itchau ng been further resolIIved and determined that the establish- ment of a sewer district , as set forth in the aforesaid map , plan and report be approved , and 'Ithat the improvement therein mentioned be constructed , and the boundaries of the district having been then and there finally determined. and. set forth and described in the said Resolution , and itlhaving, been further resolved that said Resolution was subject to a ,permissive referendum as provided in Section 209 - e of the Town Law , and A Petition having been ,presented and filed with the Town Clerk of the Town of Ithaca pursuant to Article 7 and 12 - A of the Town Law , requesting a referendum' or. the adoption of the aforesaid Resolution , and the Town Boalird .;: having duly adopted a Resolution on the 11th day of April , 1966 , 1; designating the hours and p1lace of holding the election and setting forth in full the proposition to be voted upon , and the Town 'Clerk having duly posted notice of such special election and caused such notice to be published. on the 21st day of April , 1966 , andl, the proposition haveing been sub - mitted to the qualified voters in the said. district , and the • referendum held , at the special election held on the 4th day of May , 1966 , and the proposition having been approved by the affirmative vote of a majority of the owners of taxable real property situate in the`, proposed district and shown upon the latest completed assessment (roll of the Town voting on such pro - position , and Application having, been thereafter and on the 9th day of May , 1966 , duly - made i duplicate ,' to the State Department of Audit and Control at Albany., New York , °, for permission to create such district as more fully provided for by Article 12 - a of the Town Law , and. the State Comptroller having duly made an order in duplicated dated July 6 , 1966 , granting permission for the creation of the district ; and one copy of such order having been duly filed in the Office
