You will notice,on the information provided regarding schools that serve the Town, there is more detailed information on McGraw and Dryden Schools but not on Cortland, the district which serves most of the Town's children. When asked, CHA said they couldn't get the information. I asked them to contact Judi Riley, Asst. Supt. She has always been generous to me in the past with school stats but know she was planning to retire at the end of 2020. For purposes of planning for our future, we all know that Parker and Virgil schools have'recently closed due to declining enrollment. If the number of children in the Town is similarly declining, this would be good to know in terms of future financial investments. So let's say the number of children less than 18 years old is expected to decline by 20% but the number of 60+ year olds is going up by 20%, this would have a significant impact on the Town. Two other thoughts but to a much lesser degree: I was certain when we talked about creating a Town Center that CHA was going to show a sketch or series of photos from other communities on how that might look. Otherwise, I think the average reader would just gloss over it. Lastly, I .thought the document would be better served by more pictures of the Town to illustrate points being expressed and to give a visual impression of the Town's character.
