TOWN BOARD MINUTES
Special Meeting 7 : 50 P. M. August 9, 1995
PRESENT :
Supervisor Mary Oltz
Councilpersons : Roger Hile, Rosa Lee Johnson, Joseph Schwartz, Howard Steiner
Others Present:
Carol Sczepanski - Town Clerk
Susan Beeners - Code Enforcement Officer
Supervisor Oltz called the meeting to order at 7 : 20 P .M. She reported that a special meeting
was requested by the Councilpersons of the Town of Danby for the purpose of filling Planning
Board vacancies.
Supervisor Oltz asked the Board for preferences of candidates to fill the two (2) vacancies on
the Planning Board . One term will expire on June 30 , 2000 and one June 30 , 2002.
Discussion of candidates :
Supervisor Oltz said that she would like to see the Board reappoint Eloise Greene to fill the
unexpired term. She was a good board member and worked well with the board . She said her
choice for the full term is Ralph Wilbur.
Councilperson Hile said that he would support Mary Lou Hardesty and Ralph Wilbur as
Planning Board members.

� ° Councilperson Johnson said that the Board should make more effort to interview candidates for
S 4L? positions on appointed boards . She supports Mary Lou Hardesty and Ralph Wilbur as Planning
to), Board members. She said that they are both active in the community and both business people .
11'' Councilperson Steiner said that he could not support the reappointment of Eloise Greene based
on observation at Planning Board meetings related to a proposal in her neighborhood . He
supports Ralph Wilbur and Mary Lou Hardesty as Planning Board Members.
Councilperson Schwartz said that he supports Ralph Wilbur and Eloise Greene to fill the
Planning Board vacancies.
RESOLUTION NO. 39 OF 1995 - Approved
APPOINTMENT TO TOWN OF DANBY PLANNING BOARD
By Councilperson Steiner : Seconded by Councilperson Hile
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists on the Town of Danby Planning Board, and
WHEREAS, Mary Lou Hardesty expressed an interest in serving on the Town of Danby
Planning Board, be it
RESOLVED, that the Town of Danby Town Board appoints Mary Lou Hardesty of 50 South
Danby Road, Willseyville, New York to the Town of Danby Planning Board for a seven (7) year
term, and be it further
RESOLVED, that the term of appointment begins immediately and expires on June 30, 2002.
A roll call vote on the resolution resulted as follows : Three (3 ) Ayes - Two (2) Nays

RESOLUTION NO. 40 OF 1995
APPOINTMENT TO TOWN OF DANBY PLANNING BOARD
By Councilperson Johnson : Seconded by Councilperson Schwartz
. WHEREAS, a letter of resignation was submitted to the Town Clerk addressed to the Town of
Danby Planning Board from Don Schaaf, and
WHEREAS, Ralph Wilbur has expressed an interest in serving as a member of the Town of
Danby Planning Board, now be it
RESOLVED, that the Town of Danby Town Board appoints Ralph Wilbur of 1378 Danby
Road, Ithaca, New York to fill out the remaining term of Don Schaaf, and be it further
RESOLVED, that the term of appointment is effective immediately and expires on June 30,
2000 .
A roll call vote on the resolution resulted as follows :
