TOWN BOARD MINUTES
S pecial Year - end Meeting 7 : 00 P . M . December 29 , 1994

The Special Year - end Meeting of the Town Board was called to order
by Supervisor Oltz at 7 : 06 P . M .
COMMUNICATIONS :
The Town Clerk reported that on December 28 , 1994 she received a
letter of resignation from Town Supervisor Mary Oltz . It is
necessary for her to retire from her position as Supervisor for
retirement benefit purposes . Her last day of service is December
30 , 1994 .
S upervisor Oltz reported that she may have found a person to fill
our vacant bookkeeping position .
Possible Land Purchase - Up - date
S usan Beeners reported that if the Town desires to purchase the
adjacent parcel next to the existing Town Hall an appraisal must be
completed . There are two ( 2 ) options possible for the Board to
consider for appraisal : 1 ) to exclude the land acquisition ,
appraisal , and legal fees from a grant application at a cost of
approximately $ 200 . 00 or 2 ) to have a State type appraisal that
would allow for 50 % reimbursement of the acquisition cost at
approximately $ 600 . 00 . If the grant is awarded the town could be
refunded fifty per cent ( 50 % ) of the purchase price and fifty per
cent ( 50 % ) legal and survey fees . Susan reported that it may not
be a benefit to the Town to apply for a State grant for historic
purposes .
Supervisor Oltz reported to the Board that the adjacent land is
available for $ 8 , 000 . 00 until the end of January . The Town cannot
purchase the land for more than the appraisal .
Planning Board Up - date
.' a Susan reported that the Town of Danby Planning Board has completed
their review of the Proposed Zoning Amendments .
Approval of Town Board November 14 , 1994 Minutes
A motion was made by Councilperson Schwartz and seconded by
Councilperson Bile to approve the November 14 , 1994 Town Board
Minutes as published .
A roll call vote on the motion resulted as follows :

Approval of Warrants
General Fund Warrant No . 13 of 1994
A motion was made by Councilperson Hi. le and seconded by
Councilperson Schwartz to approve the General Fund Warrant No . 13

A roll call vote on the motion resulted as follows :

Highway Department_Fund Warrant No . 13 of 1994
A motion was made by Councilperson Schwartz and seconded by

Councilperson Hile to approve the Highway Fund Warrant No . 13 of
1994 , voucher No ' s 164 - 170 in the amount of $ 14 , 599 . 96 .
A roll call vote on the motion resulted as follows :

West Danby Water District Fund Warrant No . 12 of 1994
A motion was made by Councilperson Hile and seconded by
Councilperson Schwartz voucher No ' s . 47 - 49 in the amount of
$ 176 . 88 .

Other Reports :
H ighway Superintendent reported that the Highway Department have
built pads for the Town salt and cinder supply at the New Town
B arns . The salt and cinder supply have been moved to the new
location .
Town Justice Lyndon Bennett reported to the Board his concerns
regarding a limited budget and additional funding in the event of
possible trials and related costs . As trials and expenses are
unpredictable it is not possible to submit an accurate budget
estimate that includes trials . The space at the Town Hall is
inadequate in the event that it be necessary to hold a trial by
jury . Justice Bennett requested office items and permission to
h ire a part - time secretarial person to handle his Court related
paper work .
S upervisor Oltz responded that in the event of cost over - runs
related to trials that funds would be made available through
t ransfer .
