Dear Cortlandville Town Board Members:
I join my neighbors, recently featured in the Cortland Standard (1/28/21), in
opposing the placement of a solar farm on McLean Rd across from Deerfield
Heights. To site solar farm there would be too close to the Lime Hollow Nature
Center and would disturb the entire character of our neighborhood.
Is this site really going to be approved for 7000 solar panels? That feels
more like an industrial development than residential. It is zoned R-1 for SINGLE
FAMILY HOMES. The fact that it has been farmed for years has been part of the
rural feeling that we love.
Isn't there another place that these solar panels can go ? To have such an
eyesore on McLean Road so close to Lime Hollow Nature Center is not a good
decision.
Can you please explain to me why this project is going ahead?
