TOWN BOARD MINUTES
Regular Meeting 8 : 00 P . M . July 11 , 1994

S upervisor Oltz called the meeting to order at 8 : 10 P . M . Due to
lack of quorum an informal privilege of the floor was permitted .
SWAG Report :
J oel Gagnon reported a sub - committee of SWAC ( Solid Waste Advisory
Committee ) has suggested a coordinated waste exchange be planned
for County residents for late summer or early fall . The idea is to
provide an opportunity for residents to exchange items ( curbside ) .
Tompkins County Representative Report
Representative Frank Proto reported on the following :
1 ) Hillview Road Landfill Advisory Committee - The issue of
regular cleanup along roads to the landfill will be referred
to the Public Works and the Solid Waste Committees . A
schedule for schedule regular cleanup will be developed .
2 ) 911 - System - Tompkins County has approved the 911 System .
3 ) Water Quality Steering Committee - A soil conservation person
has been hired to review the creeks in Tompkins County .
4 ) Solid Waste Facility Report - A report from the consultants
reviewing the Solid Waste Facility Report , implies that the
County should proceed with building the new facility .
Informal discussion followed regarding the cost to provide curbside
pickup of recyclables and the drop off centers . The County may
consider closing some of the drop off centers .

Supervisor Oltz adjourned the Meeting at 8 : 40 P . M . until 7 : 00 P . M .
