Hollenbeck, Town Clerk Other Town Staff: Andrew Sciarabba, TG Miller Engineers Supv Sumner opened the meeting at 5:04 p.m. and board members and guests participated in the pledge of allegiance. Board members have received a letter of recommendation from TG Miller with respect for the bids for construction of the salt storage building. A Sciarabba said seven sets of plans were picked up and two bids were received. McPherson Builders came in with a base bid of $441,712.00 and EJ Construction Group's base bid was $344,730.00. He has reviewed the bids with Highway Superintendent Jack Bush and they have decided that none of the alternates can be accepted because of budget: constraints. They will be able to used recycled asphalt millings outside the building to reduce the Town's expense for paving. They believe the 7.3% contingency amount is sufficient. TG Miller recommends that the board accept the base bid of $344,730.00. • RESOLUTION #160 - ACCEPT BID FOR SALT STORAGE BUILDING Cl Leifer offered the following resolution and asked for its adoption: RESOLVED, that this Town Board hereby accepts the base bid of EJ Construction Group, Inc. in the amount of $344,730.00 for construction of a salt storage building, and the lzj Town Supervisor is hereby authorized to sign the notice of award. 2nd Cl Makar UNW Roll Call Vote Supv Sumner Yes • Cl Maker Yes O Cl Leifer Yes to A Sciarabba %will send the Notice of Award and contract documents tomorrow. They expect construction to start the first part of October. The stormwater plan was approved by DEC today, and the Town has permission to start work prior to receiving the wetland permit. TG Miller has put out an RFP for geotechnical inspections that are required during construction. The cost is expected to be about $5,000. TG Miller would like to have the structural engineer (Elwyn & Palmer) who designed the foundation do the required structural inspections. They would like the board to authorise the sum of $2800.00 for that service. RESOLUTION #161 - AUTHORIZE FUNDS FOR INSPECTIONS ® Cl Makar offered the following resolution and asked for its adoption: RESOLVED, that this Town Board hereby authorizes the sum of $2800.00 for structural inspections by Elwyn & Pahner of the new salt storage building, and further authorizes the Town Supervisor to sign a proposal for special inspections for the salt storage building project for an amount not to exceed $5000.00, based on the recommendation of TG Miller Engineers. 2nd Supv Sumner Roll Call Vote Supv Sumner Yes Cl Makar Yes Cl Leifer Yes There being no further business, on motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 5:25 p.m. Respectfully submitted, / 4t6t4 Bambi L.
