Carried COUNTY BRIEFING Co. Rep. As of Sept. 1st, 1993 Federal legislation took effect with respect to regulating the cable. This will give local governments the option to develop certain rules and regulations that pertains to the TV industry, They are looking at the possibility of having a county commission to have some means of a uniform system. Local 1 representation from the municipalities will provide information to grant a franchise. The cost allocations at this time would be for a consultant, there wouldn't be any staff. Co. Rep. Watros - the county is starting to work can the budget and he did riot expect to see any hidden allocations. Co. Rep. Evans - the county is going to start to negotiate with their- 4 unions this month. In the case of the sheriff's departments contract, if a sheriff is asked to go ran overtime and is sitting in his car, he is also eligible for call in time, even if he didn't go home. He feels these are going to have to be negotiated and changed if they are going to control the sheriff's department.
