HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-06-16TOWN BOARD MEETING JUNE 16, 199' • Supv Schug called the meeting to � order at 12 00 neon Members and guests participated in the Pledge of Allegiance Roll call was by the Town Clerk: Present o Supv Schug, Clm Roberts, Clm C!Irrigarl Absent: Atty Perkins Clrn Baker, Clm Hatfield, Supv Schug - due the the death .-if Dryden Town Justice, Edwin R. Sweetland the Town Beard needs to appoint an acting .justice until November election. Supv Schug - has received information that Dryden Village Justice, Christopher Clauson, former Dryden Village Justice Ronald Alexander, and Marty Bleiweiss are interested in the position. He has also � received a letter from James B� �bnick that he would be interested in the position. Supv Schug - one option is to do nothing and Judge Lloyd said that he would try and handle the case load until election time. However, whoever the board appoints he will work with. Clm Corrigan - asked Judge Lloyd if there was a disadvantage of trying to handle a case load by yourself from now until November? JUdge Lloyd - the only disadvantage that he sees is the additional time required, but he has the time. Clm Baker -- asked Judge Lloyd if the case load was heavier in the summer and fall months. Judge Lloyd - he thinks that things would be easier in the summer. He has never analyzed the progress by month but, he did by case load and it is very well spread gut. Clm Corrigan - asked Judge Clal_tson, if the Town Beard did appoint him, what would happen to the village position? He does plan n justice in the fall. He will also be court on Monday nights for the gown. Clm Corrigan - asked Judge Lloyd if it would be a help or a hinderance with additional training. Judge Clauses �n - no, he was n ot. Clm Hatfield - wondered if James Bobnick had any experience or training. Supv Schug - if they are appointed they would be required to attend justice school. RESOLUTION #k129 APPOINT TOWN JUSTICE Clm Corrigan offered the following resolution and asked for its adoption= RESOLVED, that this Dryden Town Board appoint Christopher C 1 aIASOn as Dryden Town JUst ice, effective immediately, to fill the vacancy due to the death of Honorable Edwin R.
