HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-12-04MM Wed. Dec. 4, 1968, 8 P.M. Regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Cortlandville, held at the Town Hall on Terrace Road . Lqupervisor Frank X. Taylor, presiding: Members present were, Council- men Sherman Griswold and Henry Wadsworth, Justices Ronald Fish and Don Eaton. Also present , R.Krauklis, book-keeper for Supervisor, Town Attorney John Gardner, Town Assessor W.E.Becker, Hgwy Supt. Harry Cooper and. F. Walker fron Water & Sewer Dept. Town Clerk read minutes of the last meeting and they were approved. Town Clerk read a petition signed by residents of Homer and Cortlandville, objecting to the rezoning of Hall & Stearns property at Lorings Corners. Petition was ordered filed by the Town Board. Bids on Pick-up Truck which were openedbythe Town Clerk at 10 A.M. Dec. 4, !068 were eyamined by the Town Board, Ford Pick-up 1969, delivery date in January, 1996.67, 2 bids from Cheve. 1068 at 194D.00 and a 1969 at 2198.00, delivery date in December. Motion was made by Mr. Fish seconded by Mr. Eaton that t-he bid I$s of Ames Chevrolet at a price of 1945-00 lbe acceptOd-o'- This motion was carried. Motion was made by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. 731,:th,,*­:�thbt the trailer permit of David Curtis be extended 6 Months on payment to the Town Clerk of fee of $10.00. This motion was carried. Motion by Mr. Eaton second6A by Mr. Wadsworth that a performance bond by Ralph & Cleot-ner Sharp to guarantee all of the construction work and drainage on College VieN Dr. on the Sharp Traat and the construction of a gravel oil treatment according to the TcTl"n spec- ifications for highmayc and approved by the Town Engineer and secured by a certificate of deposit in the amount of 2500.00/deposi'Led at the First National Bank and approved by the Town Board. This motion was carried. ,qj4Mr. Gardner reported on a letter he received from Erie Lack- amanna Railroad sa.yin- they oculd not sell any land to the Town, but would lease same at a rental of $100.00 per month on a. five year lease/ and cancellation in 30 days. 1,00 Motion was made by Mr. Fish seconded by Mr. Griswold that the last meeting of December be held December 28, 1968 at 1:30 P.M. r'Llhis motion was carried. Motion was made by Mr Eaton seconded by'Mr. Wadsworth that the Town hire Melvin Race as exterminator for the two Town Dumps, begin- ing on January 1, 1969 after presentation of a certificate of insurance Mr. Race to be Paid $15-00 per month for each dump. A letter will be sent by the Town Clerk canceling an agreement with McMahon Bros. of Binghamton for this type of service. This motion was carried. • It was reported that the attendant at the McGraw Hill Dump -is on sick leave without pay and Rome Summerville is taking care of the dump temporarily at same salary as Mr. Hollenbeck received. * %� Motion was made by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. Griswold that the reg- ulation for highway employees be changed to read as follows' paragraph 3 A that all employees who have bben in service of the Town for 15 years shall be entitled to 3 Calender weeks Vacation with pay at the reUlar rate. This motion was carried. * 0 Motion was made by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. Fish that all bills as presented and:read by the Town Clerk, audited by the Town Board, be paid as follows: Highway Fund General Fund Water Dist. 1 Sever Dist. 1 1340-77 4948.65 1379-51 29.29 There being no further business at this time meeting was adjourned.
