HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-05-1531 Wednesday, May 15 1968 Znd Regular meeting of the month This meeting was held at 8 P.M. in the Town Hall 15 Terrace Road in the Town of Cortlandville. Supervisor Frank K. Taylor presideds members present were, Justices Donald Eaton and Ron Fish, Councilmen Henry Aadsworth and Sherman Griswold. Also present were bookeeper for Supervisor, Rudy Krauklis, Town Attorney John Gardner Town Engineer Wm. Rowell, Highway.Sup't. Harry Cooper and F.Walker, Supervisor of Water and Sewer installations. , Attorney Frank Visco appeared for a group of people and presented a petition with 63 names of residents of area near the Halstead Subdivision, also a map -of proposed plans for 63 house lots covering a period of time from January 24, 1966 to March 22, 1968. k ,��4 Motion was made by Justice Eaton seconded by Ron Fish q that the map and petition be accepted,and filed by the Town Clerk,,Thi.s motion was carriedi, Present at this hearing were Mrs. Rose Freeman, Mr. and Mrs. A.11en,Wm. Byron, John Grady, Jerry Dunlap, Milton Stout, Mr. Hage, Mr. Orfan, W.G.Heaslip, Lyall Smith Mrs. Ray Bristol, Fire Chief Ritter of Homer, Mr. Louis SGsnovich and his architect, John MacNeil and Attorney Jaxes Woods appearing for Mr, Sosnovich, In reference to a request for open burning which the Town Clerk had discussed with Mr. Tarbell of the Thompson Boat Cog permission was granted by the Town Board to permit burning from May 8, 1968 to Nov. 8. 1968. Motion was made by Mr. Wadsworth. seconded,by Mr, Fish, motion carried.. 32 Much discussion was had in regard to the Sosnovich project. Fire Chief Flitter recommended that there be a minimum of.4 hydrants and a minimum 8" water line also roads and turnarounds large enough to permit firetrucks full access to this property.'Questions were asked about the size of lots, buildings, roads etc. also, Mr. Stout brought to the Boards attention that the cars coming out of this development have to come into the Sherbrook Road before getting to Halstead and Fairview and would certainly create a traffic hazard. Mr. Grady and Mr. Smith also voiced their opinions in this matter. Motion was made by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. Griswold that the Town Engineer and the Fire Chief get together to place hydrants and size of water lines to service this area. Motion was carried. Mr. W. Howell reported on a County Sewer meeting held last week at which time no decisions were made, there is need for many more meetings and discussions before any decision should be made. u There being no further business at this time meeting was adjourned.
