Second regular scheduled meeting off; the Month
of April held In the Town Hall, Terrace Road on April
17,, 1968 at 8 -P.m.

ton, Deputy Clerk Mildred M. Brookins. Also present
were Town Engineer from the Firm of Stearns & Wheler,
Wm. Rowell, Town Attorney John Gardner, Supervisor's
Bookeeper R.Krauklis, Highway Sup't. Harry Cooper, and
F. Walker, Supervisor of Water and Sewer installations.
Mr. and 1-1�-s. George Rogers from Tioughnioga Ave
were present with 9, petition from resident:3 of Tiol-,,ghni-
Oga Avenue.
The minutes of the last- meeting were read by
Councilman Henry 'W'Iad.sNorth and they were approved.
Regard in 7 the 1--letitt)on presented to the Board
by Mr. Rogers, this was a request. to take steps to
lower the weed limit in this area where it over passes

Ronald Fish had a request from Charles Finn for two
lights or_.Lyncourt Drive, Motion was made by Henry Wads-
worth seconded by Sherman Griswold that Mr. Fish make a
survey to see what is needed. This motion was passed..
0'* On motion of Don Eaton seconded by Henry WadsMrth,
the motion to hire K. Alberts was declared null and void
due to the fact Mr. filberts did not appear for work. This
motion was passed. Highway Superintendent H. Cooper hired
Sherman Van Dueser april loth at a starting wage of j>2.00
per hour. During -the month of May -the highway Department
has requested that they be allowed to have: the long
weekend of the 30th and will work the preceeding Saturday
instead. Request was granted. Highway Superintendent,
asked permission to have a Stock pile in the area of the
Town Hall on Town property. Enginee3� Rowell will survey
to see where this can be done in reference to being near
the water land. Mr. Cooper also brought to the attention
of the -Board that he felt some money should be invested
in loader and felt the F.W.D. could be repaired in the
neighborhood of y"�2000.00. Board advised him to investigate
prices, costs and repairs.
There being no further business at this time meeting
was a.dJourned.

Griswold regarding a Sewer meeting which he attended. In
accordance with the County 2'1.an it -appears that Cortlandville
residents would be A-5s csCF�.ix_i the neighborhood of ':3 •7y+ per
thousand.

Public Hearing was held at 1;30 P.M. in the matter of an amend -
meat to the dumping ordinance. Present were Supervisor Fran'
K. Taylor, Justice R. Fish, Councilmen Sherman Griswold and.
Henry Wadsworth, Mr. Eaton could not be present due to having
Justice Court.
Mayor floss was the first to be heard.and explained what the
City wished to do relative to removing old buildings located
on the site of the Downtown Revitalization Program. They wish
to bring the rubbish and materials to the Yaman Tract on tRte
Harry Johnson aril Elmer Lang appeared to object to the pro-
posed dumping believing that this might open the door to future
dumping in this area, Mrs. Riley from that area also objected_,
together with Rase Congdon and Ronald Nye. Mr. William Camp
had no objection to :Filling in this area provided they were
not allowed to burn any thing. All concerned agreed on the
filling if there is no burning. Resolution follows:
Upon Motion of Ronald Fish seconded by Sherman Griswold
the following resolution was unanimously adopted by the Town
Board.
RESOLVED, that the ordinFAnce prohibiting the use of any
lands as a dump or dumping grounds except lands established.
and designated by the Town Board as a Public Dump or dumping
grounds heretofore adopted. I.pri l 1; , 1960 and. amended on Nay
® 13, 1963, be, and the same is hereby amended_ by adding a new
section to read as follows;
"Section 2 a. Temporary Site. The premised owned by James
J".j'.aman, situate on the west side of New York State Route 13,
(C"ortland-Truxton Road_) in the Town of Cortlandville and
being the same pref;iises conveyed by Mary Ellen Keenan Hartnett ond,
others to James J. Yara:�tn by deed. dated May 24th, 1955, and there-
after recorded in Cortland doi3.ty Clerk's Office In Liber 298 of Deeds
at Page .559 9
are hereby designated as a temporary dumping ground for a period
of 35 days from the date of adoption of -this ordinance to permit
the City of Cortland to dump only the rubbish, debris and materials -
from the demolition of the buildings located on the site of the
Downtown Revitalization Program between Orchard and west Court
Streets in. the City of Cortland, subject to the regulations.
and restrictions herein provided®" •
