I'd like to call to the attention of your Town Board the
hardship created by the lack of election district maps in the Town of Cort-
landville. As an incident to the growth of this town, new streets have been
added and existing streets extended. I have been unable to find any map that
accurately setsforth division lines for example, between the 2nd and 3rd
election districts of the town with relation to Highland Road. This has resulted
in considerable confusion amongst both residents of Highland Road as well as
candidates.
While this is perhaps an extreme example, other streets in
the township are not capable of being easily identified by election districts.
§65 of the Election Law appears to place the responsibility for
providing such maps upon each township..:
It provides that copies of -such election district maps: be .filed-;
and -kept open to public inspection,at all times.
Would you be kind enough -to -.look into this matter as -soon as
convenient?
C
Perhaps by the time another general election approaches, up-
to-date maps of the township would be available to all interested parties,
a
Thanking'you for your consideration of this, I remain
Sincerely yours,
_ DLS /meb
