Wed. Nov. 4, 1.970 7 :30 P.M. Town Hall, 15 Terrace Rd.
Regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of
Cortlandville-held with Supervisor Frank K. Taylor pre-
siding. Present were Justices Donald Eaton and Ronald
Fish, Councilmen Sherman Griswold and Ray E. Miller, also
present were, R. Krauklis, Book-keeper for Supervisor,
Louis Wagner, Highway Supt., Town Engineer, Wm. Rowell,
Town Attorney John J. Gardner,Town Assessor H. Wadsworth
and Morgan Brown. Others present were Richard Ferris, Att.
Edmund Hoffman (Sr.) ,Robtt. Bean & others.
Town Clerk read minutes of last meeting and there
were no corrections.
Town Clerk read a petition from residents on West
Road and vicinity near the former W(bster property objecting
to the business being conducted by Abbott Bros. on this
property. Motion was made by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr.
Fish that the Petition be filed.. This motion was carried.
Motion was made by Mr. Griswold seconded by Mr. Miller
that the House Trailer permit of Virginia Foster be eXtended
6 month's. This motion was carried.
Motion was made by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. Miller
that Alice O'Hara. and Rita. Sinram be appointed alternate
election Tnspectors. This motion was carried.
Supervisor Taylor read two letters from the Cbu ty
Health Dep. in regard. violations
on properties of Maud Roe and James Stevens on Tioughnioga
xT,re.
k 30 Motion was made by Mr. Fish seconded by Mr. Miller that
any Town Officers going to the Assoc. of Towns meeting in
N.Y.City Feb. of 1977. (

with all necessary expenses paid by the Town.. This motion
was carried.

that 4 new street lights be installed at intersection of Rte
281 and 13, this mota on was carried.
��� Motion was made by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. Griswold
that the bid of Mr. Thiel be accepted for certain fnachinery
he is selling to the Town, the bid price was $12,500.00.-Unanimous.

by Councilman, Gordon Griswold, a resolution was unanimously adopted,
as follows:
TAX ANTICIPATION NOTE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Town of Cortlandville, Cortland County, New York
Intends to borrow the sum of Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($12,500.00) against taxes which have been levied for the fiscal
.year beginning January 1, 1971, and ending December 31, 1971; and'
WHEREAS, The amount of such taxes levied by the Town were
One Hundred Ninety-six ThOusand Three Hundred Thirty-one Dollars
and Seventy-five Cents ($196,331.75), and that $196,331.75 of said

taxes remain uncollected; and

WHEREAS, It is necessary for the Town to borrow at this time
the sum of $12,500.00 in anticipation of taxes which have been lev
edi
for said fiscal year, toLmy the current expenses of said Town for
the said fiscal ,year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, That the Town of Cortlandville borrow from the Firs
National Bank of Cortland, New York, upon the faith and credit of

said Town, the sum of $12,500.00 in anticipation of taxes which have
been levied for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1971, and end

December 31, 1971, in accordance with the provisions of Section 24
00;
of the Local Finance Law of the State of New York; and be it furth

RESOLVED, That such loan shall be evidenced by anticipation
note to mature on February 15, 1971, subject, however, to the right
of the Town to pay said note prior to its maturity and to bear in-
terest at the rate of four and three-quarters (4 3/40) percentum
per annum; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the maturity of said note or renewals thereof
shall not extend beyond°the close of the applicable period of 'Sec-
tion 24.00 of the Local Finance Law; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Supervisor of the Town execute and deliver
for and in the name of the Town, said tax anticipation note payable
'to First National Bank of Cortland, at its office in the City of
`Cortland, New'York, and shall have such provisions and be in such
form as may be approved by the Supervisor of the Town, its approval

to be shown by his execution of the tax anticipation note; and be i
further
RESOLVED, That this reslution shall take effect immediately.
Richard. Ferris asked -the Town Board to desig..nate certain
Town roads and highways for the use of Snow- mobiles. The
Board members are going to contact Albany to see if anyone
is willing to meet with the Town Board and explain regulations
and needs in order for the Board to draw up some sort of resolution
for the use of roads for snow -mobiles.

Motionnby Mr. Fish seconded by Mr. Miller, resolved that hereafter
all of the Radio Equipment for the motor vehicles used by the
Town be standardized. and be General Electric transistor mobil -radios
this resolution carried unanimously.
/ Motion was made by Mr Eaton seconded by Mr. Miller that the
Town advertize for 3 Transistor radios for Town Trucks. This
motion was carried.
Motion was made by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. Griswold that
Engineer Rowell and Attorney John Gardner and Supervisor Taylor
proceed to get permission from the Water Resource Commission to
sell water outside of the District for the new College Buildings
off West Road.. This motion was carried.
�,51 Motion by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. Miller that the
Supervisor advertize to sell a used backhoe as is, this motion
was carried.
Motion by Mr. Miller seconded by Mr. Fish that all bills
as audited by the Town Board and presented by the Town Clerkbe
paid as follows.
General $6,651.08
Highway 4,043.10
Water Dist. 1,019.97
Sewer. Dist. # 1-121.47
This motion was carried. There being no further business at
this time, meeting was adjourned.
