Town IIall, 1.5 Terrace Road,Town of. Cortlandville
Regular meeting of the Town Board held at the `]'own Hall
at 8 P.TMi., Supervisor Frank K. Taylor, presiding. Board
members present were: Councilmen Griswold and Miller, Justice's
Eaton and Fish. Also present were Supervisor's book-keeper
Rudy Krauklis, Town Engineer Wm. Rowell, Town Assessor Henry
Wadsworth, Highway Supt. Lou Wagner, Fred Walker, Water Dept.
Mr. Barnes, from Barker Stores,Donald McKee L.S. and Mr.
Mrs. Guiseppe Sonnachio who wish to build a home on Starr Rd.
-Minutes of the last meeting were approved as read by
the Town Clerk.
Town Clerk Brookins read a letter from William F. Devine
Director of Purchasing for SCM regarding the cemetery on Rte
13 adjacent to the SCM buildings, section 291 of the Town Law
provides that the Town is responsible for fencing and caring
for a cemetery such as this one, however, on behalf ofSCM
operations, they request permission from the Town of Cort-
landville totidy-up and fence this cemetery. Fol'lowin a
�5- discussion, motion was made by Mr. 'Caton seconded by Mr. Fish
that the Supervisor be empowered to contact the SCM Corp.
(attention,Mr. William Devine) that they be permitted to pro-
ceed with this project. This resolution was passed by the
Board unanimously.
Town Clerk read a letter .from County Planning Committee,
Carl Kimberly and James Yaman regarding request for approval
of change of Cortlandville's Zoning Ordinance from residential
R-1 to R-2 and R-3 on property owned by J.Roger Bell and
Carolyn Bell. the letter states as follows: Therefore, in
accordance with section 239M of the General Minicipal Law, the
County Planning Board has no objection to the Zoning Ordinance
change mentioned above from the standpoint of future County
Planning.
�wSy Motion was made by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. Griswold tha;
the lands of J.Roger Bell and Carolyn Bell be rezoned as per.
their application from Residential R-1 to R-2 and R-3. This
motion was carried.
S� Mr. Sonnachio appeared before the Board to request a, water
line to his lots on Starr .road. Engineer Rowell reported that
it would take about 400 feet of water pipe to service these
two lots and on motion of Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. Miller the
water line will be extended up Starr Road to the middle of the
Ricotelli property. This resolution was passed unanimously by
the Town Board.
Motion was made by Mr. Fish seconded by Mr. Miller that
the Town el.dvertize for bids for 1 used Rrade-all, (Gradall)
Model M -24,60 and 1 used 5 ft. ditching bucket, 1 -36"digging
bucket and 1_ duplex tandem carrier. This motion was carried.
�,,/ Motion was made by Mr. Miller seconded by Mr. Fish that the
Town advertize for bids for a used T D 18, Internationa'l Bull-
dozer with Smith model 1.1 18 angle dozer blade 12' wide. This
® motion was carried.
y59 In regard to the Water service to the Barker Stores Project
Engineer Rowell recommends kkkit that the water line go under
the road into the exsisting sleeve on McLean Road to the Barker
Stores Lands. Motion was made by Mr. Miller seconded by Mr.
Griswold that the 'line be installed under the 'road as per Engineer
Howell's recommendation and the developer proceed from there.
This motion was passed by the Town Board.
At a. Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Cortlandville,;
held at the Town Hall in the Town of Cortlandville, Cortland County,
New, York, on. the 6th day of May, 1970, the following Resolution was
offered by Justice of the Peace, Donald Eaton, and seconded by Coun
oilman Sherman Griswold, andunanimously adopted pursua.ntto Sections
264 and 265 of the Town Law, to wit:
i RESOLVED, That the boundaries of Residential "R-1" and Residen •
tial "R-2" Districts in the Town of Cortlandville, as shown on the
1968 Zoning Map of the Town of Cortlandville, be, and they hereby
are changed so that the following described parcel of land be, and
it hereby is placed entirely in a Residential R-2 District:
That tract or parcel of]and situated in the Town of Cortland-
ville, County of Cortland and State of New York being bounded
and described as follows: Beginning at a point in the center
line of N. Y. S. Route 281 at the northwest corne.er of the hous
•lot of J. Roger & Carolyn F. Bell; running N-12 -15'-E along the
center line bf Route 281 a distance of 279.903 feet to the sou h-'
west corner of Lot #1 of the Bell Aire Subdivision; thence runibg
N-86°-561-4.1"-E along the south line of the lots of the Bell
Aire Subdivision, a, distance of 1722.4.53 feet more oizrless to -the
corner of the Proposed R-3 Zoning change; thence running south ,-

Engineer. Powell reported it would cost $45,000 to run an 811
Sewer 'line from the Trunk Sewer line on Tompkins Street Ext.
Route 13 to Terrace Road, this would extend westerly from
Munson Corners ,the north side of Mclean road to Terrace Rd.
uy Motion was made by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. Miller that
the Supervisor be empowered to appoint 2 layman for a committee
to serve with other municipalities to study a sanitary 'land fill.
this motion was carried.
Motion was made by Mr. Fish seconded by Mr.Miller that
William Porter make his own arrangements for Sewer with the
City of Cortland until such time as the Town of Cortlandville
Sewer becomes available to the current shopping Center and other
lands in this area. When a Cortlandvi'lle Sewer District becomes
available the City of Cortland will cease to contract with Mr.
Porter, other owners or any future owners in this area. This motion
was carried.
