HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-07-197000 lst Meeting of -the year, January 7, 1970, held at Town Hall ,Terrace Road, Cortland New York in the Town of Cortland_ville, 8 P.M. Members present at this regular Board Meeting were, Supervisor Frank K. Taylor, presiding, Justices Ron Fish and Don Eaton, Q�ouncil.men Sherman Griswold and Ray Miller. Also present at this meeting were Town Attorney John J. Gardner, Engineer Wm. Rowell, Fred Walker, Water and Sewer Department. • The Town Clerk read the minutes of the last two meetings and they were approved. The Town Cleric presented_ each Board member a copy of his Yearly report of a11_ monies taken in, in the various depart- ments in his office. Regarding a request from Otto Hammond of McGraw, motion was made by R. Miller seconded by Dan Eaton that Otto Hammond be 'per- mitted to dump human waste at the McGraw Dump. This motion was carried. I�H Motion was made byMr. Miller seconded. by Mr. Griswold with unanimous approval of -the Board that Supervisor be 'permitted to sign, agreement with Stearns and. Wheler for Professional Engineer- ing services for 1970. ��� Appointments were made as follows: On motion of Don Eaton seconded by S. Griswold and unanimously carried , Henry Wadsworth, Assessor .for two years. On motion of _Don Eaton seconded by Ron Fish, Sherman Griswold , , Deputy Supervisor, 4'\On motion of Ray Miller seconded by Sherman Griswold, Rudy Krauklis was apponted- book-keeper for Supervi.sol•s Accounts. On motion of Don Eaton seconded. by Sherman Griswold Charles Finn Jr. was appointed -;"or a five year term on the Appeals -��,\\Board, On motion of Ron Fish seconded by Ray Miller, Willard Griswold was apponted to a five year term on the Planning ;goard. On motion of Don Eaton seconded by Ray Miller, Stearns and Wheler Engineers, were appointed as Engineer's for the Town. Or_ .motion of Ray Miller seconded by Ron Fi h, Joseph T. Yacano Jr.. was apponted Civil Officer for the *-b Town. A11!motions were accepted and carried unanimously. • On motion of Sherman Griswold seconded_ by Don Eaton the First National Bank was designated as the depository for Supervisor's Accounts, Town Clerk's Tax'Aecountd and Sewer District 1, accounts. On motion of Ron Fish seconded by Ray Miller the Marine Midland Bank was designated. as the depository for Water Districts 1, 2 and 1 Motions were carried. Motion was made by Don Eaton seconded by Ron Fish that the Cortland Standard be designated as the Official Newspaper of the Town, this motion was carried. Clerk 200.00 yearly Motion was made by D. Eaton seconded by R. Fish that the mileage rate be 6asignate? as Q.10 per mile. Motion was carried. Motion ras made by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. Griswold that meetjng nights be set up for the first and third Wednesdays of each month. This motion was carried. ox� Mr. Taylor appointed Mr. Miller to serve with him and Town Assessor,as on Assessor's Ravieu Board. Town Engireer Rowell reported on extention of water line on Starr Road, 650 ft. at a costof $250000 iTdh-fhe te work. Town Engineer also reported in regard to the Sosnowich project relative to the Water and Sewer lines. Motion was made by Mr. Miller seconded by Mr. Griswold that the two existing street lights on Fer-Cor Drive be changed to 175 Watts. This motion was carried.
