Tuesday May 16, 1972 7:30 P.M. (2nd Monthly meeting)
Regular meeting of the Town Board held at the Town Hall
with Supervisor Frank K. Taylor, presiding. Other members
present were Justices Ron Fish and Don Eaton, gouncilman Ray
E. Miller. Councilman Sherman Griswold was absent, Also present
were Rudy Krauklis, Bookkeeper for Supervisor,Town Attorney
John J, Gardner Town Engineer, William Rowell,)TXA&XAUy°" �X
Mrs Christine Canestaro and Mrs Mildred Brookins.
Groton Ave Ext. residents present were Mrs. Cogswell, Mrs.
Emma McLaughlin and Mr. Walter Priest. Also present were Mr.
and Mrs. Natoli from Homestead Rd. and Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Sonnachio
who are building a house on Starr Road. Mr. Laverne Niederhofer,
was present with a petition for the Town Board.
Justice Eaton read the minutes of the last meeting and
there were no corrections .

Request for a House Trailer renewal was presented to the
Boar:! by M.Brookins Dep. Clerk for Mr. R. Gallagher. There were
no objections from the Board and this permit was granted for a
fee of $10.00, on motion of Ron Fish and seconded by Don Eaton,
motion carried unanimously.
*10 Mr. Taylor read a letter from Stanley Holland in regard
to violations of Section 7.10 of Part 7, of the New York Sanitary
Code, in Robert P. Bean's ,Penguin Starr Trailer Park on 303
Tompkins St, Ext.
On motion of Don Eaton, seconded by Ron Fish this letter
acknowledged,as rec'd and filed. This motion was carried.
A sign problem on Carr Hill was brought to the attention
of the Town Board by Supervisor Taylor, Mr. Burger of this area
states the sign is not sufficient. Justice Eaton will check
this condition out with Highway Supt. Lou Wagner.
Town Attorney will draw Resolution in regard to increase
in Salaries of Councilman, Assessor and Highway Supt. which
will be on the following page.

On motion of Don Eaton seconded by R. Miller,that Ron Fish
conduct a survey in regard to the need of lights in the Sleepy
Hollow, Bowling Green and Winkle Way area. This motion was
carried.
'IeV_ Mr. & Mrs. Natoli from Homestead Road in the vicinity of
the new project of David Yaman, Chelsea Town House Apt's, asked
the Board if there was any action that could be taken in regard
to the amount of dust caused by the truck and vehicle travel. Mr.
Taylor advised them that this would be a problem for the Developer.
On motion of R. Miller seconded by Don Eaton the Town Clerk is
instructed t,o write a letter to David Yaman bringing this to his
attention. 'his motion was carried.
Mr. & Mrs Sonnachio (Joseph) were present to request water
at their property on Starr Road. Town Attorney Gardner is to
obtain easements from George Crane, Joseph Sonnachio and Carmine
Ricotelli for the Water line to be put thru their property. Town
Engineer W. Rowell has checked this out in regard to the install-
ation of a water line.
Or/notion of Ron Fish seconded by R. Miller a Resolution was
passed to amend the resolutior�6f May 6, 1970 to read, that the
water district extend the line to the end of the Water District on
Starr Road, and that a Hydrant be installed there. This motion
was passed unanimously.

Unon motion by Justice of the Peace, Ronald Fish, seconded by
Justice of the Peace, Donald Eaton, the following Resolution was un
animously adopted:
RESOLVED, That from June 1, 1972, to December 31, 1972, the
salaries of certain Town Officers are to be as follows:

Mr. Rowell reported on a meeting held with Mr. Stiles and his
Engineer,Anthony Malley of Syracuse, N.Y. regarding a part of
his property, (Hart Estates) he will have a further report from
Mr. Stiles in a months time.

Mr. John Folmer filed a Petition with the Town Clerk May 16, at 2 P.M
which was read by the Town Attorney requesting a re -zoning from
R-1 to R.2 of a portion of his property (Hart Estates). On motion of
D. Eaton seconded by R. Miller June 7th, 7 P.M. is to be the date
set for a hearing by the Town Board regarding this Petition. This
motion was carried.
Ron Fish reported that he will more information regarding under-
ground cable installation according to the Public Service Commission,
Mr. Rowell also reported that he was very dissatisfied with the
way the water ;j�K is being installed for Chelsea Apartments, he
also consulted Jo n MacNeill in regard to same. There should be
competent inspection on this project until such is completed.

The Town Board,on motion of Don Eaton seconded by R. Miller, Mr.
Rowell is to write a letter to Fred Walker, Operator and Mainten-
ance Man for Water and Sewer advising him what needs to be done.
This motion was carried.
Mr. Niederhofer presented the Board with Petitions regarding
,the request for annexing certain lands and lots belonging to
St Mary's Church and Walter Westendorf.
Town Attorney John Gardner will arrange for Publication regarding
this petition and after alloted number of days will arrange for
a Joint Hearing with the City of Cortland, scheduled by the Town
Board for June 14, T972 at 7:30 P.M., as per a motion by R. Miller
seconded by Ron Fis4, with unanimous approval of the Board.
Motion was made by R. Miller seconded by Doi Eaton that the
meeting adjourn.
