Lst.Regular meeting of December, Town BoArd. , Town of Cortlandville
held at the Town Hall, Supervisor Frank K. Taylor presiding;
Board members present were, Justices Ron Fish and Don Eaton, Council-
men Sherman Griswold and Ray E. Miller. Also, R. Krauklis, Bookeeper
for the Supervisor,Town Engineer, Wm. Rowell, Town Attorney John J.
Gardner, Town Assessor, Robert Wells, Fred Walker, Water & Sewer
Maintenance and Deputy Town Clerk M. Brookins.
Residents present at this meeting were,Mrs. James Neville, Mr. &
Mrs. Leon Hauser,Mrs. Juanita DeHart, Mr. & Mrs. Carl Leach, Mr.
and Mrs. Francis West, Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Clemens, Mr. Del Palm, Mrs.
Shirley Fish, Tom Smith and Mr. & Mrs. Walter Priest & another, also
Skip Chapman, from the Cortland Standard.
Town Clerk Lelan Brookins read the minutes of .the previous meeting
and there were no corrections.,Minutes approved, unanimously.
The Town Clerk informed the Board that he had recrd a petition
from the residents of East River Rd. area (59 signatures) requesting
appropriate action be taken to enforce the ordinances ,rules and
regulations of the Town of Cortlandville and the laws of the State
of New York, as they pertain to the premises owned by Fred Compagni
located on the Egst River Road in the Town of Cortlandville.
RESOLUTION: Motion was made by Don Eaton, seconded by Re Miller
that said petition be accepted and filed, this was unanimous.
Mr. Brookins investigated the Halstead property but found no one
on the premises, he is making further inquiries and will report to
the Board.
Town Attorney brought the residents of East River Rd. up to date
in regard to a conciliatory hearing scheduled for Jan. 3, 1974 at
2 P.M. for a Zoning violation of Fred Compagni.
East River Road problems, continued:
In regard to a ditch being filled and water over the road, since
this is a County Road the residents were advised this should be
brought to the attention of the County Highway Superintendent.
The residents will present a petition to the County Board of
Supervisors•
Town Engineer Wm. Rowell reported that the Office of Stearns &
Wheler will take necessary steps regarding Locko Glazers, when
Test Report from Sanitary Engineer, Jim Fuess has been analyzed.
He will report to the Town Board.
Mr. Brookins has investigated the complaint regarding conditions
of junk cars etc. at the Louis Pierce home on Gallagher Road.
Regarding the Trailer, this is agricultural , there is no one
living in the Trailer, it is apparently, just stored there. There
are two vehicles without inspection stickers . Mr. Brookins learned
that Mr. Pierce works out of Town, he will try to contact him in
the evening. He will report back to the Board in regard to this
complaint.
Justice Eaton reported that Mr. Knight has stated that he will
take care of the surplus junk cars on his property on Ridge Road
as he is having a crusher come in,to do the job.
Town Engineer Wm. Rowell is going to investigate as to where
new hydrants
may be obtained
for the Water Department.
Motion was made by R. Miller
seconded by D. Eaton that all bills
as prepared
by the Town Clerk
and audited by the Town Board be paid
as follows:

This motion was passed, there being no further business at this time
meeting was adjourned until December 19, 1973 at 7:30 P.M.
