Second Regular meeting of the Town 4§oard of the Town of Cortland- ville held at the Town Hall at the above mentioned time with Supervisor Frank K. Taylor.bresiding Members present were Justices Donald Eaton and Ton. Fish, Qcuncilmen Ray E. hiller and Sherman Griswold, also present were Bookeeper, Rudy Krauklis,`.i`°own 'Engineer, Wm. Rowell, Town Attorney, John J. Gardner, Town Assessor, Hobert Wells, Deputy Town Clerk, Mildred M. Brookins. Mr. & Mrs. W. Priest from Groton Ave. Ext. (Groton Road) were present, alsoMr. & Mrs. K. Weeks of isabell Dr. and. Dick Hammond, 24 Isabell, Tom Smith. Shirley Fish, Mr. Rea of 13 Halstead Rd. Skip Chapman of the Cortland Standard. and Attorney Jack Fitzgerald. Ions. Town Clerk read minutes of the Last meeting and there were no correct Town Clerk had a communication from R.A.Idzi, Acting Regional Traffic Engineer, 333 East Washington Street, Syracuse, New 'York, 13202 regarding request for lower speed zone investigation on Starr Road. A formal investigation will be conducted at the subject location and. on completion will inform the Town Clerk. Town Clerk read a notice from Albert C. Kenney, Clerk of the Board. of Supervisors ,regarding a Public Hearing to be held on July 2, 1973 at d $ P.M. on a proposed Agricultural. District in the County of Portland, the proposed District being within the Towns of Cortlandville, Solon, (McGraw area) see following pages. Town Clerk read a communication from Mike Walsh, Bounty Deputy Superintendent of Highways. and as per.his letter, Resolution, follows. Page 242, 242 The following action was taken at a regular meeting of the Town Board, Town of Cortlandville on Wednesday, June 20, 1973 held in the Town Hall, 15 Terrace Rd., Cortland, N.Y.s RESOLUTION: On motion of Justice°Eon Eaton and properly seconded biouncilm-a,n H. filler and unanimously adopted, the Following resolution was placed upon the minute book of the Town of Cortlandville: WHEREAS the County highway Superintendent has informed this Board of plans to improve the Starr Rd. (C.R. 120C). AND WHEREAS information presented indicates a serious traffic safety hazard exists at the intersection of the aforementioned Starr Ed. (C.R. 120C) and N.Y.S. Route 90, due to inadequate sight distance. BE IT THEREFOR RESOLVED that this Board strongly,urges the N.Y.S. Department of Transportation to modify the vertical alignment at this intersection to provide adequate sight distances and thereby remove the existing hazardous condition. AND THAT THIS RESOLUTION be forwarded to the Superintendent of County Highways, Walter J. Tennant, Cortland, New York and to Joseph M. Rowell, reported on the surrey made by Stearns and Whel.er, regarding the :"'larence homer property on Delaware Ave. Town Attorney John J. Gardner disqualifies himself regarding this protect and on motion of R. Miller seconded by D. Eaton, Resolution was passed authorizing Supervisor 'Taylor to secure the services of another Attorney to research all records and maps and to conduct necessary survey to establish the exact line between the City of Cortland and the Town of ® Cortlandville. This Resolution was passed unanimously. Village Terrace, vehicles often cut into his lawn. Motion was made by R. Miller seconded by R. Fish that a barrier be installed at this residence on 13 Halstead, Mr. Eaton and Hgwy. Supt. Wagner will investigate what is needed, this motion was passed unanimously. 4')e A petition with 25 names of residents of Gunzen Dr. wish to have adequate street lighting on said street. Motion was made by R. hiller Seconded by i). Eton that R. ?ish Investigate and report to the Town Board regarding this request. This was passed unanimously. 246 Town Assessor Wells reported 7 applications were processed on Grievance Day, 6/19/73, 4 to 8 P.m., 4 , were residences, 2-, commercial and 1, industrial. YA i-iotion by Mr. Miller 'seconded by R. Fish to purchase ancl- ng machine from ?ioyd Calkins at -$355-11, this motion was passed. 0;---;9 /1 Attorney Jac} Fitzgerald presented an application for review by Town Board regarding extending the Homer Village line in the Town of uortlandville on lands now owned by F.Gorman. • XMIMLT.=I�ekIx Resolution was passed on motion of R. Fish seconded by D. Eaton that the Town Board request the Planning Board to review this application also the Town Engineer, Wm. Howell. This motion was unan- imous. �A% Resolution was passed on motion of R. Miller seconded by R. Fish -Olt that due to Independence Day falling on the regular meeting night that the Town Board meet Thursday, ' July 5, 1973 at 7:30 P.M. This was unanimous.
