2nd. Regular meeting of the Town Board, Town of Cortlandville
This meeting was held at the TownHall, Supervisor Frank
K. Taylor, presiding. Board members present were, Justices
Ronald Fish and Donald Eaton, Councilmen Ray E. Miller and
Sherman Griswold/ also, present were, Rudy Krauklis, BKPR.

Tom Cusik was present representing CAPCO and requested
some time before the Town Board.
Town Clerk Brookins read the minutes of the last meeting
and there was one correction regarding Election Dist. 5, the
paragraph should read SOUTHEAST instead of south west. The
correction was made.
Mr. Taylor reported to the Board that Jim Rush at
Cortland Floorcraft has a lighting problem in that area, the
Board authorized Ron Fish to investigate and report back
to the Board.
,�� RESOLUTION
Motion was made by Don Eaton seconded by Ray Miller
authorizing Supervisor Taylor to purchase a used voting machine
(which has been checked and is in good condition) for not over
100.00 from Mr. Lloyd Sutton. This motion was passed unan-
imously.
Mr. Brookins read a letter from Mr. Thomas Huhn, Mfg.'s
Agent for Automatic Voting Machines, Ashville N.Y. 14710,
This letter will be on file for future reference.
Bids were opened at 8 P.M. for 1 Ton bump Truck for the
Highway Department. As follows:

,�"-A Resolution: On motion of Don Eaton seconded by R. Miller
with unanimous approval of the Town Board, that letters be
sent to Congressman James Hanley, Senators -James Buckley and
,Jacob Javits requesting them to intercede with the Office of
Economic Opportunity for the release of Local monies for the
Community Action Program of Cortland County for the Calender
Year 1973• (See copy ,on next page)

Whereas, the Town Board of Cortlandville is aware of the effort
expended by certain members of the County of Cortland to organize
a new Comminity Action Program and,
Whereas, the same Torn Board is aware that the County Community
through its newly formed CAP Board of Directors has complied
with all regulations to make it eligible for receipt of Federal
anti® poverty monies, and
Whereas, said monies have not yet been released from OEQ to pay
for program expenses incurred since January 1, 1973, therefore,

RESOLVED, that the Town Board of Cortlandville requests Congress-
man. James Hanley, Senators Javits and Buckley to intercede with
the OEO to secure release of monies to the Community Action
Program for Cortland County so that said Community Action Program"
will be able to operate its programs during the Calender year,1973e

RESOLUTION: Motion was made by Ron Fish seconded by Don Eaton
that the bid of Ames Chevrolet for i Ton Dump Truck at $3,631.00

Motion was passed.
Mr., Magner reported that a Mrs, Pritchard on Lime Hollow Road
asked if there was any help the Town could give in regard,, to
danger in backing out of -the driveways in this area,

RESOLUTION OF'THE TOWN BOARD
OF THE
TOWN OF CORTLANDVILLE
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of this Board that efforts
at reorganization of the court system of the State of
New York are now underway, and
WHEREAS, the local courts of this state provide to the citizens
of our community an accessability and availability not
• otherwise to be found in the court system, and
WHEREAS, the local court system provides a tax savings to the
citizens of our community, and
4 WHEREAS, elimination or modification of the local court system
can only be regarded as a deprivation of the opportunity
of the citizens of our community to enjoy the availability
and accessability of their local court,

NOW THEREFORE, be it
RESOLVED, THAT THIS BOARD IS UNALTERABLY OPPOSED TO ANY
PROVISION FOR RESTRUCTURING THE COURTS OF THE STATE OF
NEW YORK WHICH WOULD INCLUDE THE MODIFICATION OR ELIMINATION
OF THE LOCAL COURT SYSTEM, AND BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED, THAT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION BE FORWARDED TO
THOSE LEGISLATORS REPRESENTING THIS COMMUNITY TO INSURE
THAT THEY ARE FULLY AWARE OF THE POSITION TAKEN BY THIS
BOARD.

resolution adopted by the Town Board of the
Town of Cortlandville on the 21st day of

RESOLUTION: Motion was made by Sherman Griswold, seconded by
Ray Miller that bills as presented by the Town Clerk and audited
by the Town Board in the amount of $ 1,904.68 from the General
Fund be paid at this time and entered on the abstract of Mar. 7,73.
This motion was passed unanimously and there being no further
