A regular meeting of the Town Board was held at the Town Hall, 15 Terrace Rd. with Deputy Supervisor, Sherman Griswold presiding in the absence of Frank. K. Taylor, who was on vacation. Other Board members present were: Justices, Donald Eaton and Ronald Fish; and Coucilman, Ray Miller. Also present were: Town ighwa Attorney, John Gardner; Town Engineer, William Rowell; Siz�it.lHighw i gne.r Assessor, Robert Wells; Bookkeeper to the Supervisor, Rudy Krauklis; Town Clerk, Christine Canestaro; Deputy Town Clerk, Mildred Brookins; Legislators, Shirley Fish, and Delmar Palm. The Town Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting and there were no corrections. The minutes were approved as read. • The Town Clerk read a, letter from the Thomas H. Huhn Co. re- garding a possible increase in the price of their voting machines. Motion was made by Donald Eaton, seconded by Ray Miller that -the letter be received and filed. The Town Clerk reported the Zoning Board of Appeals had. nothing to .report for last month. The Planning Board reported via a copy of the minutes of their meeting for the month. Copies of these minutes were given to each member of the Town Board. Mr. Grinter, representative, presented the preliminary plans for the water and sewer system of the proposed new Ponderosa Restaurant which would be constructed early this coming spring on Rt. 13. A final plan will be presented in about two weeks for the Boards consideration. Mr. Rowell said he had reviewed the plans and talked with the Health Dept. about them. Mr. Rowell suggested, since the existing water district does not go as far as the Ponderosa property, that they should obtain permission from private owners to tie into the existing 14" line which serves the Terrace and McDonald's Restaurants by tieing into the northerly line of -the McDonald's Restaurant property and proceed,�,,,to the northerly line of the Pondarosa property and back. Pmanhole and shut-off valves should be installed at the northerly line of the Pondarosa property, he said, with the expense of the entire prof eet being completely --,assumed by the developer. The sewer,hook-up was also discussed. Mr. Rowell said he wished to review the plans further before giving his approval. Louis Wagner, Highway Superintendent presented cost figures from Case Power Equip. Co., Syracuse, on a new Drott Cruz Air ditching machine as follows: Trade-in Allowance -Old Grade All Cost new---- $55,000.00 (Orig. Cost $6,.500) $8,50o.00 Trade-in, Allowance -John Deer Crawler in 1 (Ori.g. Cost.$14,000) 10,155.00 Total trade-in allowance 7.8,6 5.00 Earliest delivery date - July 1974 $36,345.00 He advised they now have a demonstrator machine with 102 hours use on it. This machine would be available immediately at a net cost of $30,000.00 with same trade-in. The Board withheld action until the return of Mr. Taylor, Chief Fiscal Officer. Rudy Krauklis, Bookkeeper advised that he had purchased Certificates of Depost from the First National Bank of Cortland as follows: Highway Fund $150,000.00 (1/2 yr.) General Fund 0 000.00 (1/4 yr.)
