A special meeting of the Town Board was held at the McGraw Recreation
Center at 8:25 p.m. The special meeting had been called by Supervisor
Blatchley for the purpose of authorizing Rowell & Associates to make a
feasability study on the proposed sewer district for Groton Ave. Present
were: Supervisor Blatchley; Justice,Donald Eaton; Justice,Ronald Fish;
Councilman,Sherman Griswold; Councilman,Ray Miller; Town Clerk, Christine
Canestaro; and Town Attorney, John Gardner.
Supervisor Blatchley called the meeting to order. After a short
discussion the following resolution was adopted.
RESOLUTION #118 AUTHORIZATION FOR A FEASABILITY STUDY FOR A SEWER DISTRICT
IN THE GROTON AVENUE AREA
Upon motion of Justice, Donald Eaton, and seconded by Councilman, Sherman
Griswold, all voting aye and adopted.
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Cortlandville has indicated
that a need for an Inter -Municipal sewer system does exist by resolution #53
adopted on April 16, 1975; and
WHEREAS, A County Sewer Agency has not, as yet, been formed; and
WHEREAS, The City of Cortland has been awarded a grant for a trunk line
sewer on Groton Avenue and included in this grant, is authorization to extend
the trunk line from the City Corporation line to route 281; and
WHEREAS, The Town Board of the Town of Cortlandville, by resolution #88
adopted on June 4, 1975, authorized the Supervisor to write a letter of intent
to the City of Cortland, indicating that the Town of Cortlandville did intend
to form a Sewer District or permit the formation of Sewer Transportation District;
and
WHEREAS, The City of Cortland has indicated that, in order to meet a
pressing deadline, they must have immediate assurance from the Town of Cortland-
ville that a Sewer District will be formed in order to classify the trunk line
sewer as an "Inter -Municipal" system; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That Rowell & Associates be, and they hereby are,
authorized to make a feasability study in the Groton Avenue and vicinity
area of the Town to determine the proper designations and limitations of
the district; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the study not exceed a cost of $1,500.00.
There being no further business, upon motion of Justice Eaton, seconded
by Councilman -Miller, the meeting was adjourned at 8:27 p.m.
