A special meeting of the town board was held at the town hall, 15
Terrace Rd. with Supervisor, Robert P. Blatchley presiding. Other
board members present were Justices Donald Eaton and Ronald Fish; and
Councilman, Sherman Griswold. Councilman, Ray Miller was absent as he
was on vacation. Others present were: Town Clerk, Christine Canestaro;
Town Attorney, John Gardner; Town Engineer, William Rowell; news reporter
Skip Chapman and several residents of the town.
The special meeting was called by the Supervisor for the following
purposes,
1. Act on petition requesting creation of Water District #5.
2. Set date for public hearing regarding sewers for Terrace Rd.
area.
3. Act on wetlands hearing.
• 4. Appoint Dog Enumerator
5. Act on request by U.S.Geological Service to drill a test well
on Lamont Cr. recreation area.
RESOLUTION #90: APPROVAL OF THE CREATION OF WATER DISTRICT #5
Motion by Justice Fish, seconded by Councilman Griswold. Water Dist.
Votes: Justice Eaton, aye; Justice Fish, aye; Councilman Griswold, #5
aye; Supervisor Blatchley, aye. Adopted.

REGARDING TERRACE ROAD SEWERS:
In answer to a question put by Justice Eaton, Engineer, William Rowell
advised that in order to be considered for 1001% public funding, the
Terrace Rd. sewer project must be ready to go to bid and construction

the application. Therefore, a public hearing should be held as soon
as possible so that pertinate papers and drawings to be sent with the

application can be made. The public works funding, he said, would be
made available Sept. 1, 19?6 and preference will be given to those
applications which projects are ready to be constructed.

Motion was made by Justice Eaton, seconded by Justice Fish that a

The town board reviewed the applications submitted for the job of Dog

RESOLUTION #92: APPOINTMENT OF ADELBERT SMITH AS DOG ENUMERATOR FOR THE
YEAR 1976
Motion by Councilman Griswold, seconded by Justice Fish.
Votes: Justice Eaton, aye; Justice Fish, aye; Councilman. Griswold, aye;
Supervisor Blatchley, aye. Adopted.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Ad-elbert Smith be, and he hereby is, appointed

RE: TEST WELL- LAMONT CIRCLE
Supervisor Blatchley reported that a request had been made by John Harsh Test Well
and Bill Bueler to bore a 4" test well on the Lamont Cr. playground, relative Lamont Cr.
to the 208 water study being conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey.
OLUTION # : PERMISSION GRANTED TO U.S.GEOLOGICAL SURVEY TO BORE TEST WELL
Motion by Councilman Griswold, seconded by Justice Eaton.
Votes: Justice Eaton, aye; Justice Fish, aye; Councilman Griswold, aye;
Supervisor Blatchley, aye. Adopted.
BE IT RESOLVED, That permission is hereby granted to the U.S.Geological
Survey Dept. to bore a 4" test well on the property owned by the Town
of Cortlandville on Lamont Cr. known as the Lamont Cr. playground, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized to sign
necessary papers in connection with the granting of this permission.

Action was not taken on the proposed Local Law #1 as enough.:,t me Local Law #1
had not elapsed since the public hearing in order for it to become
law.
Supervisor Blatchley asked that a special meeting be held for the
purpose of taking action on Local Law #1.
Motion was made by Justice Eaton, seconded by Justice Fish that
a special meeting be held on Monday 8/30/76 at 12:00 noon for the purpose
of taking action on Local Law #1. Votes: Justice Eaton, aye, Justice
Fish, aye; Councilman Griswold, aye; Supervisor Blatchley, aye; Motion
carried.
There being no further business, upon motion of Councilman Griswold,
seconded by Justice Fish, all voting aye, the meeting was adjourned at
9:10 P.M.
