A special meeting of the Town Board was held at the Town Hall, 15 Terrace
Road, Cortland, New York with Supervisor Stanley Nadolski presiding. Other
board members present were Councilman Ray Miller, Councilman Warren Manning
Councilman Melvin Pierce, and Cour lman Ray Thorpe. Others present were Town
Clerk, Pauline Parker: Zoning Enforcement Officer, Don Fowler: Assessor, Robert
Wells: Justice Donald Eaton: Legislator, Del Palm, and Newsreporter Skip Chapman.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Nadolski.
Attorney Gardner advised the board of the need of a Public Hearing for
the proposed Fire District.
RESOLUTION # 159 SETTING A DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE ESTABLISH-
MENT OF A FIRE DISTRICT FOR THE TOWN OF CORTLANDVILLE.
Motion by Councilman Miller, seconded by Coundlman Manning
Votes: All Aye Adopted.
BE IT RESOLVED, upon its own motion, that a public hearing by the Town
Board of the Town of Cortlandville, New York, shall be held pursuant to
Sections 171 and 185 of the Town Law, at the Town Hall, 15 Terrace Road,
in the Town of Cortlandville, New York, on the 6th day of December, 1978
at 7130 P.M., in certain matters as follows:
1. The establishment of a fire district in the Town to be known
as the Town of Cortlandville Fire District and to embrace all the
territory within the corporate limits of the Town and outside the
corporate limits of the City of Cortland and the Villages of Homer
and McGraw.
2. The dissolution and discontinuance of the existing Town of
Cortlandville Fire Protection District, created by the Town Board
on April 8, 1937, and extended by the Town Board on October 17, 1938,
which embraces all of the territory within the corporate limits of
the Town and outside the corporate limits of the City of Cortland
and the Villages of Homer and McGraw; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all parties in interest and persons may
attend and have the opportunity of being heard at the public hearing
aforesaid.
Supervisor Nadolski asked permission to continue the meeting at a later
date to allow more time to finalize the budget for 1 979-
RESOLUTION # 160 SETTING A DATE FOR A SPECIAL MEETING TO ADOPT THE BUDGET
FOR 1979.
Motion by Councilman Thorpe, seconded by Councilman Miller.
Votes: All Aye Adopted
WHEREAS: Supervisor Nadolski has requested more time to make the necessary
changes in the Preliminary Budget from the recommendations of the Town
® Board
NOW THEREFORE, be it
RESOLVED that this meeting will-Cadjourn until a later date and a Special
Meeting will be held on November 20, 1978 at 7:30 P.M. to finalize the
budget for 1979-
The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 P.M.
