Locko Glazers has been operating at the same location and in the same manner since August 26, 1959. C The site of our operation is zoned for industrial use, and we are operating in compliance with all local ordinances and regulations. When Mr. Gibson first complained to our plant management personnel, they initiated several operational changes within the plant in order to reduce the noise level to a minimum. They also relocated the plant°s truck parking area to a site Qf greater distance from Holstead Drive. recent complaint of our operating a pumpt at night approximately 4 Les a year, at a time period of from 15 to 45 minutes will be alleviated our switching this operation to a late morning or early afternoon hour. G. Thorpe SUBJECT: Locko-Glazers Complaint On August 3, 1978 Supervisor Nadolski and Councilmen Pierce and Thorpe met with Mr. William J. Christopher (Corporate Vice -President), the plant manager, and the day foreman at Locko-Glazers, Inc. of Cortland, 240 Tompkins Street. The complaints brought by several town residents were reviewed and discussed. Locko agreed to take all reasonable measures to keep odor and noise levels as low as possible. Several points should be made, however: 1. Locko is in a proper zone. 2. The trees bordering a portion of the Halstead Drive -Locko property line, growing on the Locko property, which serve as a noise shield, have been cut down. The trees were not removed by Locko. 3. A certain amount of truck noise is unavoidable. The hydraulic systems on the trucks must be pressurized for safety reasons. We found no evidence that the drivers were capricious or careless.
