SPECIAL MEETING
A special , combination meeting of the Town Board with
the Cortlandville Planning Board was held at 15 Terrace Road,
Cortland, New York with Supervisor Nadolski presiding at 7:30.
Board members present were Councilman Manning, Councilman
Pierce and Councilman Thorpe. Members of the Planning Board
attending were Chairman, William Clemens, Willard Griswold,
Victor Metcalf P.E., Seth Burgess and Secretary Mildred
Brookins. Also Zoning Officer, Don Fowler; Engineer Charles
Feiszle and Betty Palm.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Nadolski.
Invited to speak at the meeting were Keith Porter and
Karen McComb of Cornell University Center for Environmental
Research and Ronald Slotkin of the Cortland County Planning
Board.
Ronald Slotkin reviewed a presentation of slides of the
Dry Creek and Otter Creek areas.
Keith Porter introduced himself and presented a general
discussion on what his study was attempting to do. This
study will be a more detailed analysis of Land Use, its
effects on the ground water and surface water flow quality.
Karen McComb explained how the study was to be accomplished
using a computer model of the Acquifer developed by U.S.G.S.
The study area will be divided into a number of cells determined
by existing proposed land uses. This will provide a method
for determining how future changes in land use in specific
areas will impact the Acquifer..
