June 25 , 1991 A special meeting was called by Supervisor Dietrich to discuss the Town Bonds , Danby Pond , and Mosquito Spraying in Michigan Hollow . PRESENT : Supervisor Dietrich Councilpersons : Eckstrom , Marisa , Oltz - ABSENT : Councilperson Schwartz ( excused ) Others Present : Town Clerk - Sczepanski Town Hall Caretaker - Roberts Town Bookkeeper - Miller Members of the Public : Jim Meyers , Lin Brown , Mary Ann Kozak , Judy Tagliavento The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Dietrich at 5 : 15 P . M . Danby Pond : Keep Danby Pond Afloat Committee : The " Keep Danby Pond Afloat Committee submitted to the Town of Danby Town Board a report and a Proposal to open Danby Pond for the 1991 season . Supervisor Dietrich reported that he has received information from the State Parks and Recreation that they will revise the contract for Danby Pond . The time allowance of notification to close down the area has been revised from ninety ( 90 ) days to ' thirty ( 30 ) days . The new contract for Danby Pond from New York State Parks and Recreation is expected this week . Mary Ann Kozak announced that the Danby Pond Committee has raised $ 2 , 591 . 95 . The pond will open on July 4 , 1991 is will to open weekly , Thursday - Sunday for the 1991 summer season . A " Keep Danby Pond Afloat " Committee Proposal and a Jennings Pond Swimming Program Manual and Safety Plan were submitted for the Board ' s review . Discussion followed on how the payroll for lifeguards and other expenses were to be handled . A check from the " Keep Danby Pond Afloat " committee will be sent to Community Council to handle the pond expenses . RESOLUTION #36 OF 1991 By Councilperson Eckstrom : Seconded by Councilperson Oltz WHEREAS , The Town of Danby " Keep the Pond Afloat " committee has raised funds to pay wages for lifeguards at the pond , and WHEREAS , the " Keep the Pond Afloat " committee will turn their contributions over to Community Council as a Community Contribution to the Town , now be it RESOLVED , That the Town of Danby Town Board authorize the Town Bookkeeper to amend the 1991 budget to pay the Danby Pond Lifeguard Payroll out of the Town budget with proceeds to be paid by the " Keep the Pond Afloat " Committee revenues received as Community Contributions , and be it further RESOLVED , That the Town of Danby 1991 Budget be amended as follows : Revenue Account No . A2770 - increased $ 2 , 500 . 00 General Fund Appropriations Account No . A7150 . 1 - increase $ 2 , 500 . 00 . 6-.4 () 2 Town Board Meeting June 25 , 1991 A roll call vote on the resolution resulted as follows : E ckstrom Aye Marisa Aye O ltz Aye D ietrich Aye • Carried Unanimously Supervisor Dietrich reported that the Town must make a payment on the Bonds for our New Town Highway Barns and on the $ 20 , 000 . 00 Capital Note . The $ 380 , 000 . 00 Bonds will be on a pay schedule for fifteen ( 15 ) years . The closing for the bonds will be on Thursday , June 26 , 1991 . Discussion followed in regard to how to make payments on the bonds and note and how to keep the Town taxes down . Mosquito Spraying Project — Michigan Hollow Supervisor Dietrich presented a letter to the Town Board that was sent to Dr . Dennis White of New York State Department of Health in regard to Central New York Larval Mosquito Control Demonstration Project for Michigan Hollow Test Site from Attorney Randall Marcus of concerns of the Town for the above referenced project . Discussion followed . Motion to Pursue a Restraining Order for the Mosquito Spraying Project for Michigan Hollow . A motion was made by Councilperson Marisa and seconded by Councilperson Eckstrom for the Town of Danby Town Board to authorize Supervisor Dietrich to pursue a Restraining Order to halt the Mosquito Spraying Project in Michigan Hollow and to HYPE the press .
