Present were Supervisor Lee , Councilmen Newhart , Todd & Ogden , Attorney Amdur , Assessor Wells , and Highway Superintendent Case . Absent Councilman Jones . RESOLUTION #1 DEPUTY SUPERVISOR Councilman Newhart offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that this Board appoint Sidney Jones as Deputy Supervisor for the year 1968 at a salary of $ 200 . 00 . 2nd Councilman Todd Roll call vote - all voting YES RESOLUTION #2 ASSESSOR Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that this Board appoint Robert J . Wells as Assessor the the • year 1968 . 2nd Councilman Ogden Roll call vote - all voting YES RESOLUTION #3 RECEIVER OF TAXES & ASSESSMENTS Councilman Ogden offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that this Board appoint Marlene W . Luss as Receiver of Taxes and Assessments for the year 1968 . 2nd Councilman Newhart Carried RESOLUTION #4 HISTORIAN Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that this Board. appoint Miss Mabel Bartholomew as Town Historian for the year 1968 at a salary of $ 100 . 00 . 2nd Councilman Ogden Carried RESOLUTION #5 SERVICE OFFICER Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that this Board appoint Supervisor Lee as Service Officer for the year 1968 . 2nd Councilman Ogden Carried RESOLUTION #6 SUBDIVISION CONTROL OFFICER & MULTIPLE RESIDENCE INSPECTOR Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that this Board appoint Robert J . Wells as Sub -Division Control Officer and Multiple Residence Inspector until such time as a Zoning Officer is appointed should Zoning be passed in the Town of Dryden . 2nd Councilman Ogden Carried RESOLUTION #7 DELEGATE TO ASSOCIATION OF TOWNS Councilman Todd offered the following• resolution and asked its adoption RESOLVED that Gary A . Lee be appointed delegate to the Association of Towns Meeting to be held February 5th , 6th & 7th in New York City . 2nd Councilman Ogden Carried RESOLUTION #8 MEMBER OF TOWN BOARD ON PLANNING BOARD IIICouncilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that Councilman Ogden be appointed to the Town Planning Board . 2nd Councilman Newhart Carried RESOLUTION #9 BOARD OF ASSESSMENT REVIEW Councilman Ogden offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that the entire Town Board ( Supervisor and four councilmen ) and Assessor Wells sit on the Board of Assessment Review . 2nd Councilman Todd Carried RESOLUTION #10 CIVIL OFFICERS Councilman Ogden offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that Raymond Sickmon , Harold Fitts and Frank Frost be appointed Civil Officers for the Town of Dryden for 1968 . 2nd Councilman Newhart Carried 1 7 RESOLUTION #11 FIRE INSPECTOR Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that Supervisor Lee be appointed Fire Inspector for 1968 . 2nd Councilman Ogden Carried RESOLUTION #i2 DEPUTY TOWN CLERK Councilman Newhart offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that this Town Board upon recommendation by Clerk Luss appoint Joan Wallenbeck , Leona Fortner and Robert Wells as Deputy Clerks for 1968 . 2nd Councilman Ogden . Carried RESOLUTION #13 DEPUTY TAX COLLECTOR Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that this Board appoint upon recommendation from Collector Luss , Joan Wallenbeck & Leona Fortner as Deputy Tax Collector for 1968 . 2nd Councilman Newhart Carried RESOLUTION #14 ASSOCIATION OF TOWNS Councilman Ogden offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that all Town Officials may go to the Association of Towns Meeting in New York City , February 5th , 6th & 7th and be it further RESOLVED that the expenses of all elected and appointed officials of the Town of Dryden be paid from the General Fund . 2nd Councilman Todd Roll call vote - all voting YES RESOLUTION #15 SALARY SCHEDULE Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that the salaries of the Town Officials be set for the year 1968 , as scheduled in the budget . Chrm 400 . 00 Civil Officers ( 3 ) 100 . 00 each The salary for the second Justice will be set at a later date subject to qualifications of the Gentlemen who will fill the unexpired term left vacant by the untimely death of Justice Spaulding . 2nd Councilman Ogden Roll call vote - all voting YES RESOLUTION #16 SALARY PAYMENT Councilman Newhart offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that all elective and appointive officials of the Town of Dryden be paid bi - weekly except for the Supervisor and the four Councilmen who will be paid monthly , and the Town Historian & Civil Officers who will be paid. annually . 2nd Councilman Ogden Carried RESOLUTION #17 HIGHWAY SALARIES Councilman Ogden offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that Highway employees be paid in a range not to exceed #3 . 25 as recommended by Highway Superintendent Richard Case . 2nd Councilman Newhart . Roll call vote - all voting YES RESOLUTION #18 DAILY HOURS Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that the Assessors Hours be set at 9 A . M . - 12 Noon Tuesday and Thurdays and the first and third Saturday of each month as recommended by Assessor Wells . The Clerks hours will be 9 A . M . - 3 P . M . Monday - Friday and 9 A . RESOLVED that this Town Board continue to use Robertts set of Rules . 2nd Councilman Todd Carried RESOLUTION #21 MONTHLY MEETINGS Councilman Newhart offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . 0 RESOLVED that the regular monthly meetings will be held the second Wednesday of each month at 7 P . M . and that three meetings during 1968 will be held one each at Varna , West Dryden & Bethel Grove . The date will be set in advance and advertised when the Town Board travels to these three areas . 2nd Councilman Todd Roll call vote - all voting YES Supervisor Lee reported that he had talked with Bill Bailey of the George B . Bailey Agency about the Town ' s Insurance and Mr . Bailey will attend the February Meeting to give details . RESOLUTION #22 DESIGNATE BANK Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that this Town Board designate the First National Bank of Dryden as the official bank for the Town of Dryden . 2nd Councilman Ogden Carried RESOLUTION #23 CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSITS Councilman Ogden offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that the Supervisor be empowered to purchase Certificates of Deposit . 2nd Councilman Todd Carried RESOLUTION #24. RESOLVED that the Supervisor be , and is hereby directed to pay $ 650 . 00 to the Southworth Library . 2nd Councilman Todd Roll call vote - all voting YES RESOLUTION #36 MILEAGE Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption . RESOLVED that mileage be paid to Town Officials , including Election Inspectors at the rate of $ . 08 • per mile when using their own car for O fficial Town Business . 2nd Councilman Ogden Roll call vote - all voting YES RESOLUTION #37 HARRY SPAULDING Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and askedits adoption . 0 BE IT RESOLVED that the Dryden Town Board extend its heartfelt sympathy to Mrs . Harry Spaulding and her family for their great lossin the untimely death of husband and father . All of us who worked with him appreciated the fine job he had done in his many years of service for the Town of Dryden , and the high regard he had for devotion to duty . 2nd Councilman Ogden Carried Councilman Todd gave his thanks and appreciation to every individual in the Town Government in the past two years for the assistance and help g iven him in performing his ljob as Supervisor and special thanks to Mrs . Amdur , Mr . Wells and Mrs . Luss who he felt went beyond the line of duty . Supervisor Lee thanked Councilman Todd for the excellent job he had done in the past two years as Supervisor and said he regreted that Councilman Todd could not continue in that capacity however , he was happy he could continue as a Board Member . Councilman Newhart asked Supervisor Lee if anything had been done in
