HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-22-1980Thursday, May 22, 1980 7:00 P.M. page 1 �:�:��1 SPECIAL MEETING A Special Meeting of the Cortlandville Town Board was held on May 22, 1980 at the Town Hall, 15 Terrace Road, Cortland, NY at 7:00 p.m. with Supervisor Nadolski presiding. Board members present were: Councilman Edwin O'Donnell, Councilman Warren Manning, Councilman Melvin Pierce, and Councilman Raymond Thorpe. Others present were: Town Clerk, Pauline Parker; Zoning Officer, Don Fowler; Justice, Don Eaton; Legislator, Delmar Palm; Newsreporters, Skip'Chapman and Dave Domishek; ® Robert Share of SCM and several interested town residents. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Nadolski for open discussion of the proposed 36-64 Cortland County Sales Tax Plan. Mr. Robert Share of Smith Corona Marchant Inc., a representative of Industry, and acting -vice-chairman of the appointed Blue Ribbon Panel, reported to the Town Board of the majority plan being submitted by the committee. He expressed concern of the recent action taken by the Town Board. Legislator, Del Palm, explained again his minority report. A discussion followed in which town residents were involved. The Town Board members explained their prior action. If the proposed plan is accepted by the County Legislature, it will be in affect for a four year period and would continue automactically. RESOLUTION # 103 CONFIRM OPPOSITION OF THE 36-64 SALES TAX PliAN PROPOSED BY BLUE RIBBON PANEL Motion by Councilman O'Donnell Seconded by Councilman Pierce VOTES: ALL AYE ADOPTED BE IT RESOLVED that the Cortlandville Town Board confirms their Resolution # 87 of May 7, 1980. A motion was made by Councilman Pierce, seconded by Councilman O'Donnell, to adjourn the meeting.
