Present were Supervisor Gridley , Justice Hoagland , Council - m1n "iSaeltonstall , and Benson , Superintendent of Highways , Case , Assess - or Abrams , and Emmons Ogdens , ccCha rmananf itlleL2i. aim ing Board . Justice Spaulding was absent , Minutes of the previous meeting were approved . Correspondence was read , which included a thank you from First National Bank of Dryden for flowers which wassent for their Open House . Resolution 110- - - Letter of Resignation Supervisor Gridley read letter of resignation , of Town Clerk , Leona 1 Fortner , to be effective December 31 , 1964 . Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its adopt - ion . RESOLVED , that the Board accept with regret the resignation of Town Clerk Fortner . Seconded unanimously and carried . Resolution 111 - -Audit of General Bills Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its adoption : RESOLVED , that General Bills totaling $ 7640 . 85 be paided as audited . Seconded by Clm . Saltonstall . Roll call vote , all voting yes . Resolution 112 - -Audit of Highway Bills Justice Hoagland offered the . following resolution and moved its adopt - ion . RESOLVED , that the Highway Bills totaling $ 9587 . 69 be paid as audited . Seconded by Cim . Saltonstall . Roll call vote , all voting yes . Resolution 113 . - Transfer to Highway Findz Ctm . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its adopt - ion . On recommendation of the Highway Superintendent and Supervisor Gridley . RESOLVED , that the sum of $ 2198 . 70 be appropriated for the purpose of machinery repair in Item # 3 . Said moneys having been re - ceived as unanticipated revenues . AND BE FURTHER RESOLVED , that the sum of $ 5635 . 01 be appro - priated for snow and ice control in Item #4 , the same having been already received as unanticipated revenues . Seconded by Justice Hoagland , and Carried . Resolution 114 - Transfer Hwy . Item #2 to Item 3&4 Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its adopt - ion . On recommendation of Highway Supt . Case and Supervisor Gridley . RESOLVED , that the sum of $ 3600 . 00 be transferred from Highway Item # 2 to the following Items . Item # 3 - - - - $ 3000 . 00 Item # 4 - - - - 600 . 00 $ 3600 . 00 Total The Supervisor is hereby authorized and directed to make the necessary {' Y transfer on his books . Seconded by Supervisor Gridley , Motion carried . Resolution 115 _ _ Designated Paper . Cim . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its adopt ion . RESOLVED , that the Tompkins :. County . Rural Newsc`.be , desi.gnated as the offical paper of the Town of Dryden for 1965 . Justice Hoagland seconded and motion carried . Resolution 116 - - Designated Bank 3 1 Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its adopt - to ion . RESOLVED , that the First National Bank of Dryden , N . Y . be designated as the official depository for the Town of Dryden for the year 1965 . Clm . Saltonstall seconded and carried . Resolution 117 _ _ Bonds Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its adopt - ion . RESOLVED , that Bonds be purchased from Geo . B . Bailey Agency - to cover the following Town Officials for the year 1965 , as required by law . Supervisor Gridley , Justices Hoagland and Spaulding , Hwy . Supt . Case , Town Clerk and Collector . Seconded by Cim . Saltonstall , Carried and ordered .. . Resolution 118 . _ Salaries Supervisor Gridley offered the following resolution and moved its adopt - ion . RESOLVED , upon recommendation of the Supervisor that the salaries of all elected and appointed officials be paid as of Dec . 19 , 1964 . Seconded by Clm . Saltonstall . Roll call vote , all voting yes . Resolution 119 - - Time Deposit Clm . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its adoption . RESOLVED , that the Supervisor be empowered to place on time deposit , in the First National Bank of Dryden available monies from Highway and or General Funds , not needed for immediate use , and Be it further RESOLVED , that the Supervisor cause said deposits to be made as soon as funds are avialable inJanuary , 1965 . Seconded by Justice Hoagland , Roll call vote , all voting yes . Supervisor Gridley offered the following Nominations for Constable : Harold Fitts , Raymond Sickmon , and Edward Newhart . Moved by Justice Hoagland and Seconded by Cim . Benson , that these Constables remain in office . Carried and so ordered - • Resolution 120 _ _ Annual Audit Clm . Benson offered the following resolution and moved its adoption . • RESOLVED , that the annual audit be held December 31 , 1964 at 9 : 00 A . M . Seconded by C1m . . Saltonstall . Carried and so ordered . Resolution 121 - - General Funds Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its adoption . RESOLVED , on recommendation of the Supervisor the sum of $ 7016 . 79 be appropriated from surplus funds and placed .in various accounts as follows . Roll call vote , and all voting yes . 32 Supervisor Gridley reported that the tax rate in the Village is $ 18 . 93 as compared to $ 18 . 41 in 1964 and $ 22 . 72 outside , as compared to $ 22 . 35 for 1964 . P lanning Board Chairman Ogden reported on work of his board . He asked t hat all mate`s.. ia1 on the " 701 " Program be left within easy reach of persons needing it . A meeting has been called for December 15 , 1964 regarding " 701 " Program , Village and Town Officials have been notifEed by mail . A Mr . Lengeman was reappointed for & years .. A lengthy discussion was held on Public information concerning an enforcement of Town Ordinances and which information follows . Copy attached to minujzes . No information was found in files , to show that the Town Board had taken any action on this matter . Clm . Benson asked that a yield sign be moved at Asbury and Chick - • hominey Rd . It was reported that B1cd . lights had been installed at New York Electric and Gas Corp . on Rt . 13 , and signs had been put up by Supt . of Highways , Case . Adiscussion followed about the purchase of property adjacent to e xisting Town property . Clm . Benson offered the following resolution and moved its adoption . BE IT RESOLVED , that the map of additional • existing property be turned over to Peter Levatich for his studied o pinion , that the property not be considered for purchase at this time . Clm . Saltonstall seconded , motion carried . Resolution 122. . . - Varna Fire Dept C1m . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its adoption . • v. BE IT RESOLVED , that Supervisor Gridley be authorized to make all necessary arrangements in obtaining a radio for Varna Fire Dept . Truck , at no cost to the Town . Seconded by Justice Hoagland , carried •° Moved by Justice Hoagland , seconded by Clm . Saltonstall , that meeting be adjourned until December 31 , 1964 at 9 : 00 A . M . , carried and so ordered . Records were in order and there being no further business , meeting adjourned . Lewis Gridley , Supervisor Mattie Bayly , Deputy Clerk • Date : December 8 , 1964 To : Dryden Town Board From : Dryden Town Planning Board Subject : Public information concerning , and enforcement of town ordinances Gentlemen : The following is an excerpt from the minutes of the November 19 , 1964 meeting of the Dryden Town Planning Board : "Following further discussion , Chairman Ogden called for a motion . Mr . Peter Curtis moved , ' Resolved that the Town Hoard take immediate action to notify the public of , and more adequately enforce , the existing Town ordinances . ' The Planning Board is disappointed that no apparent action has been taken to properly inform the public of the Report of New Construction ( May , 1963 ) and of the Subdivision Tales & Regula- tions . r ' The Planning Board also feels that more concrete action should be taken to inform the public of , and to enforce , the existing Junkyard Ordinance .
