July 14 , 1964
The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board was called tp
order at 8 p . m . by Justice Hoagland , in the absence of Supervisor
Gridley . Present were Justice Spaulding , Councilmen Benson and Salton-
stall , Assessor Abrams , and Mr . Levatich , architect .
N otice advertising for bids for alterations to town hall was read .
D oll and Streeter , Cortland , submitted the sole bid , a total bid of
$4950 . 00 ( front entrance $ 2350 , back room addition $ 2600 ) . Matter
tabled for consideration after Supervisor ' s arrival .
Minutes of the June meeting were approved .
Resolution No . 68 - Audit of General Bills
• Clm . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its adoption :
RESOLVED , that general bills totaling $ 792 . 27 be paid as
audited .
Seconded by Justice Spaulding . Roll call vote , all voting YES .
Assessor Abrams dzecussAd .the new equalization rate of 44 , as compared
to 47 last year . He also reported disposition of grievance day problems ,
Supervisor Gridley conducted meeting from here .
Resolution No . 69 - Audit of Highway Bills
Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its adoption :
RESOLVED , that highway bills totaling $4246 . 64 be paid as
audited .
S econded by Clm . Saltonstall . Roll call vote , all voting YES .
Progress report from Stearns & Wheeler on comprehensive sewerage study
was read . Sup . Gridley reported that he hopes to attend , with village
committee , a meeting to be held in Albany on this matter on July 27th .
Resolution No . 70 - Deputy Clerk ( re : Res . No . 49 )
Clm . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its adoption
RESOLVED , that the Deputy Clerk continue to keep town office
open on Mondays until the end of the gear , and that a report be made at
the October meeting for budgetary purposes .
S econded by Clm . Benson . Roll call vote , all voting YES .
Purchase of a truck was discussed and tabled until the next meeting .
Meeting recessed , and Mr . Levatich discussed building alterations .
Meeting resumed .
Resolution No . 71 - Alterations to Town Hall
Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its adoption
RESOLVED , that the bid of Doll and Streeter for the entire con''
tract of $4950 . 00 be accepted ; that Mr . Levatich make out the contract ,
and Supervisor Gridley be authorized to sign same .
S econded by Clm . Benson . Roll call vote , all voting YES .
Clm . Benson reported on progress of the Planning Board , and said that
he hopes to bring recommendations to the Town Board at Sept . meeting .
Resolution No . 72 - Enforcement Subdivision Rules
Clm . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLVED , that the Assessor and Highway Supt . be appointed as
enforcement officers of subdivision rules and regulations .
Seconded by Justice Spaulding . Roll call vote , all voting YES .
It was agreed that the County Highway Superintendent be requested to
e rect Yield signs at the intersections of County roads 110 and 164 , and
o f Pinkney Road and Lower Creek Road .
The next regular meeting will be August 11 , 1964 .
Moved by Justice Hoagland , seconded by Clm . Benson , that the meeting
be adjourned until 8 p . m . Ju1y328th . Carried at 10 : 30 p . m .

Present were Justices Hoagland and Spaulding , Councilmen
Benson and Saltonstall , Supervisor Gridley , and Hwy . Supt . Case .
Resolution No . 73 - Bid for Trucks
Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved
its adoption : RESOLVED , That the Highway Superintendent be
empowered to advertise for bids for two new trucks , at a total
cost not to exceed $ 34 , 000 . 00 ; bids to be openned at 8 : 00 p . m .
August 11 , 1964 .
Seconded by Clm . Saltonstall . Roll call vote , all voting YES . .
It was noted that a county wide review of intersections should •
be made , with specific reference to the following :
( a ) Ellis Hollow and South Road
( b ) Ringwood and Ellis .:LHollow Creek Road
( c ) Hanshaw and Lower Creek Road
( d ) Route 13 at McLean Road
( e ) Etna Hanshaw and Upper Creek Road .
