HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-06-05 390 June 5 , 1962 The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board was called to order at 8 p . m . by Supervisor Gridley . Present were : • Justices Hoagland and Spaulding , Councilmen Baker and Salton- stall , and Hwy . Supt . Case . The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved . Moved by Clm . Baker , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that High- way bills totaling $ 3187 . 19 , be paid as audited . Roll call vote , all voting YES . Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that General bills totaling $ 1218 . 73 be paid as audited.. Roll call vote , all voting YES . Supervisor Gridley reported on the insurance coverage on Town Hall and Town Garage . Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Clm Baker , that Hwy . Supt . Case be enabled to attend the school for highway superintendents , and that the Town Clerk be enabled to attend the school for Town Clerks , both to be held at Cornell University July 9 , 10 , and 11 . Motion carried and so ordered . Moved by Justice Hoagland , seconded by Clm . Saltonstall , that the slate of Inspectors of Election , as submitted by the Repub - / ican and Democratic parties , be accepted . Roll call vote , all voting YES . Y . State Civil Defense Commission regarding fall out shelters was received and placed on file . ( Civil Defense file ) L etter from Mr . Floyd Morter was received - stating complaints about condition of the West Malloryville Road - was referred to Hwy Supt . Case , and placed on file . L etter from Mr . D . A . Lewis of N . Y . State Electric and Gas was read - requesting that the Town take over as a Town road a portion of route 13 to be abandoned , t . , . . . _ Moved by Clm . Baker that the Town of Dryden accept as a Town Highway a portion of route 13 to be abandoned by N . Y . State , beginning. at Station id8+ 50+ , and extending to a point ad- joining the Gas and Electric entrance , a distance of approxi - mately 620 feet . Motion seconded by Clm . Saltonstall , who re - quested that resolition be amended to read , " provided that said portion is not taken over by Tompkins County . Clm . Baker seconded the amendment . Amendment carried and so ordered . Roll call vote on original reabiution with amendment as approved , all voting YES . 391 Clm . Saltonstall reviewed the meetings held jointly with the Planning Board , one with Dr . Broad and Mr . Liguori of the Tompkins County Health Department , and the other with Mr . Richard Patrick of the N . Y . State _:Dep.art.ment of Commerce . Discussion followed , regarding matters of planning , with particular reference to future water and sewage problems ; potential areas of development ; and maps to be used by the Planning Board . The next regular meeting will be July 5th . Hwy Supt Case reported on completion of work on Upper Creek Road during May . Moved by Justice Hoagland , seconded by Clm .
