PUBLIC HEARING
FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACT
VILLAGE OF HOMER -- 1981
The Public Hearing was called to order by Super-
visor Nadolski at 7:30 P.M.
In attendance were Supervisor Nadolski; Councilmen
O'Donnell, Manning, Pierce and Thorpe; Attorney, John
• Folmer; Town Clerk, Pauline H. Parker, Homer Fire Chief,
Bruce Moss; Newsreporter, Dick Camerano and a few town
residents.
The Town Clerk read the legal notice as follows:
LEGAL NOTICE
TOWN OF CORTLANDVILLE
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING I
FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACT i
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that
a public hearing will be held by the
Town Board of the Town of Cortland-
ville, Cortland County, New York, at
the Town Hall, Terrace Road in said
Town on March 18, 1981 at 7:30 o'clock
p.m., Eastern Standard Time, for the
purpose of considering the contrac-
ting with the Village of Homer and it's
fire department, for fire protection to
be furnished by said fire department
to the fire protection district
established in said Town of Cort-
landville, upon the following general
terms, to wit:
(a) The Fire Department shall
answer and attend upon all calls, in
said fire protection district;
(b) For such service the said
Village of Homer shall receive, the
said Town of Cortiandville shall pay,
the sum of Fifty Thousand Five Hun-
dred Dollars ($50,500.00) during the
period of this agreement.
(c) The said Village of Homer and
it's fire department shall be responsi-
ble for any loss.or damage to the fire
apparatus to the said Town of Cort-
landville sustained in answering any
such call;
(d) The said Village of Homer shall
also be responsible for payment of all
claims for injuries to or death of
firemen in connection with such
calls;
(e) The contract shall continue for
a period of one year, it being effective
as of January 1, 1981, and shall expire
December 31, 1981;
(f) Such other incidental terms as
may be necessary or proper in con-
nection with such contracting.
All persons interested in the matter
shall be heard at such time and place.

Attorney Folmer summarized the contents of the Fire
Contract, and explained the changes between the prior
5 year contract and the proposed contract for 1981.
The payments will be made quarterly of , 13,125 for
a total contract cost of $ 52,500. This reflects an
increase of-$ 8,000 over last years contract.
Upon all questions answered by those in attendance,
Councilman Manning made a motion, seconded by Councilman
Pierce, to close the public hearing. All voting aye,
the motion was carried.
The hearing was closed at 7:45 P.M..

SPECIAL MEETING
A special meeting of the Cortlandville Town Board
was held on Wednesday, March 18, 1981 with Supervisor
Nadolski presiding.
Other members present were Councilmen O'Donnell,
Manning, Pierce and Thorpe; Attorney, John Folmer;
Town Clerk, Pauline H. Parker.
Others present were Justice, Donald Eaton. News -
reporter Dick Camerano and a few town residents.
Supervisor Nadolski called the meeting to order
at 7:45 P.M.
RESOLUTION # 67 AUTHORIZE RENEWAL OF BOND ANTICIPATION
NOTES
Motion by Councilman Thorpe
Seconded by Councilman O'Donnell
VOTES: ALL AYE ADOPTED
WHEREAS, the Town of Cortlandville, a municipal corporation
with its office located at Terrace Road, Cortland, New
York, has, pursuant to a bond resolution dated March 5, 1980;
as amended, executed the following Bond Anticipation
notes:
Note dated March 25, 1980
Note dated June 5, 1980
Note dated July 3, 1980
Note dated August 7, 1980
Note dated September 4, 1980
Note dated October 2, 1980
Note dated November 7, 1980

WHEREAS, all of said notes are presently held by First
National Bank of Cortland, 65 Main Street, Cortland, New
York; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of each of said notes, all
of said obligations mature and become due and payable on
March 20, 1981; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Cortlandville is desirous of renewing
said obligations and the holder of said obligations has
indicated its willingness to accept a renewal note in the
total sum of the present principal amounts of said notes,
said renewal note to be due and payable on March 20, 1982,
with interest at the rate of 8 1/2 percent per annum,
prepayment to be permitted at any time without penalty.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved pursuant to Section 23.0
of the Local Finance Law that the supervisor, as fiscal
officer of said Town is hereby authorized to execute, -on.
behalf of the Town, a bond anticipation renewal note as
aforesaid and further is authorized to take such steps
as are necessary to deliver said note to First National
Bank of Cortland, 65 Main Street, Cortland, New York on or,
before March 20, 1981.

RESOLUTION # 68 AUTHORIZE SUPERVISOR TO SIGN ONE YEAR
FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACT - VILLAGE OF
HOMER
Motion by Councilman Thorpe
Seconded by Councilman Pierce
VOTES: ALL AYE ADOPTED
BE IT RESOLVED that the Superviosr is hereby authorized
and directed to sign the one year Fire Protection Contract
with the Village of Homer for the year of 1981 for a cost
• of $ 52,500.00 and
RESOLVED that such payments shall be made in quarterly
installments of $ 13,125.00 each.
Upon motion by Councilman Manning, seconded by
Councilman Thorpe, all voting aye. The meeting was
adjourned at 7:55 P•M..
