The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board was held Wept .
3rd at 7 : 30 P . M . at the Office Bldg .
Present were Supervisor Gridley , Justices Spaulding and Hoagland ,
Councilmen Baker and Saltonstall ; Supt . of Highway Beach and Assessor
Abrams .
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved .
Moved by Clm , Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that the
General bills totaling $ 570 . 14 and the Youth Project bills of $ 80 . 00 ,
be paid as audited . Roll call vote , all voting YES .
Moved by Cim . Baker , seconded by Justice Hoagland , that the
H ighway bills totaling $ 5 , 274 . 07 be paid as audited . Roll call vote ,
all voting YES .
Mr . Hardesty was present and stated that he had boughta piece of
land in the Ellis Hollow district , which he was developing into
residential building lots , and asked the Board for improvement on
the Genung Road , leading past this property .
Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Clm . Baker , that Supt . of
Highway Beach investigate this road and make the necessary repairs
on it for the present , and if this development expanded , the Town
would then consider further improvement on this road . Motion was
carried .
Supervisor Gridley presented the proposed Baker Hill road plans .
Moved by Clm . Baker , seconded by Justice Hoagland , that these
plans be returned to Mr . Coykendall , the surveyor , to superimpose
the proposed Baker Hill road on the New York State Gas and ElectricS
land survey . Motion Carried .
A communication was read from Mr . Wallick , Director of the
Greater Ithaca Regional Planning Board , and placed on file .
A discussion followed regarding the Varna Community Building .
The agreement made July 27 , 1931 between the Town of Dryden and
the Community Men ' s Club of Varna was read . Supervisor Gridley is to
make Further study regarding this agreement .
Supt . of Highway Beach brought before the Board the matter of a
wage increase for his employees .
Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Hoagland , that an
increase of 50 an hour be given to all employees of the Highway
D epartment , effective September lst , 1959 . Motion Carried .
Moved by Clm . Baker , seconded by Justice Hoagland , that Supt . of
H ighway Beachbe granted leave to attend the Highway Supt . ' s meeting
at Rochester , N . Y . Held September 23 , 24 and 25 , expenses for trip
to be paid by the Town . Motion carried .
Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Hoagland , that the
next regular Board meeting be held October 6 , 1959 . Carried .
Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Hoagland , that this
meeting adjourn . Carried .
