Present were Supervisor Gridley , Justice Spaulding , Councilmen Salt, nst .l .,_ nd. Baker , and Supt . of Highway Beach . The minutes of the September meeting were read for information . Moved by Justice Spaulding , seconded by Clm . Saltonstall , that the General bills totaling $ 668 . 48 and the. Youth Commission bills totaling ; ViO- . 00 be paid as audited . Roll. call vote , '.all voting YES . . Moved by Clm . - Baker , seconded by Clm . Saltonstall , that the Highway ' bills totaling $ 6685 . 97 be paid as audited . Roll call vote , all voting YES . Communications were read from Nellie Rice , submitting her resig- . nation as Town Clerk , Collector and Registrar • of Dryden ; also from Mrs . Sally Hoyt ,. regarding the condition of the Baker Hill road and from S . D . Goodband , pertaining to a change in the Midline Road , near his properrty . • Moved by Councilman Saltonstall , seconded by Clip . Baker , that Nellie Rice ' s resignation as Clerk , Collector and Registrar be accepted with regrets . Motion carried . . In reference .to the Sally Hoyt communication , the Board agreed to inspect the Baker Hill road during the fall road tour , and Mr_ . Goodband ' s communication was referred to County Highway Supt . Miller . Justice Spaulding offered the following resolution and asked . its adoption . Resolved that : Leona Fortner be appointed Town Clerk , Collector , and Registrar to fill the unexpired term of Nellie Rice , resigned : Be it further resolved that : The salary be at the rate of $ 2700 . 00 'n per year : . Be it further resolved that : Leona Fortner be bonded in the amount of $4 000 . 00 . ' , The resolution was seconded by Clm . Saltonstall and carried by roll call vote . - . ?Iove ;1dby Clm . Baker , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that Charles Downey and Charles McGory be appointed custodians ofthe voting . machines for the Town of Dryden , compensation of $ 50 . 00 per custodian . Motion carried . . Councilman Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its adoption : Resolved that : The inspectors of election be paid $ 14 . 00 for election day and $ 1 . 00 plus 8 ¢ per mile one way for instruction meeting , And be it Further resolved : That the inspectors of election be paid at the rate of $ 1 . 00 per hour for primary and registration days , And be it 273 Further resolved : That the inspectors , who attended the examination and instruction meeting at Ithaca be allowed $ 2 . 00 plus 80 a mile one way The Resolution was seconded by Justice Spaulding . Justice Spaulding offered the f ollowin Rand moved its gq s adoption : RESOLVED , that this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve as the Preliminary Budget of this Town for the . fiscal , year beginning on the first day of January , 1959 , the itemized statementsof the estimated revenues and the expenditures hereto attached and made- a part of this resolution , and be it FURTHER RESOLVED , that such Preliminary Budget shallibe filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available for inspectionby any interested person at all reasonable hour 's , and be. it , FURTHER RESOLVED , that this Board shall meet between the hours of 8 : 00 and 9 : 00 P . M . on the 5th day of November 1958 for the ,)DP purpose of holding a public hearingtsuch Preliminary Budget , and be it FURTHER RESOLVED , that the Town Clerk give notice of such public hearing in the manner provided in Sec . 113 of the Town Law , and that such notice be published .
