meeting adjourn . Carried .

August 5 , 1957
The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board was held
at the Town Office on August 5 , 1957 at 7 : 30 PM .
Present were : Supervisor Gridley , Justices Spaulding , Whitford ,
Councilman Baker , Hwy . Supt . Beach , and Assessor Abrams . Justi ce
Shaw was absent .
The minutes of the July meeting were read for information .
Mr . Emmons ONen was present in regard to naming the Ellis
Hollow Road , Also Rev . Gibby was present regarding the same matter .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Councilman Baker ,
That P the road beginning at the boundary of the Ithaca and Town
Line road to Ellis Hollow Community , thence Northerly to the
intersection of Ringwood and Creek roadd be henceforth known as
the Ellis Hollow road , and that section from Ellis Hollow Community Soul
Southerly to the Dryden - Caroline Town Line henceforthbbe -
known as the Ells Hollow Road South . Carried and so ordered .
Mr . Henry Reed was present in regard to the Varna Town Hall .
Moved by Councilman Baker , seconded by Justice Spaulding that the
Town purchase 5 rolls roofing , nails and roofing cement for the
repair of the roof of the Varna Town Hall . Carried and so ordered .
Moved by Justice Spaulding , seconded by Councilman Baker , that
the General bills totaling $ 285 . 65 , and The Youth Comm . bills
totaling $ 275 . 70 , be paid as audited . Roll call , All voting YES .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Councilman Baker that the
Hwy . bills totaling $ 5 , 559 . 29 , be paid as audited . Roll call vote ,
all voting YES .
A card of appreciation and thanks was read from the family of
Mr . Allen C . Beach .
A communication was read from C : N . Baker , the Village Clerk , in
regard to asking the Town Board to appoint Mr . James R . Murray as
Town Constable . Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice
Spaulding , that the matter be tabled till next meeting . Carried and
so ordered .
A petitmon was " read requesting a top on the Thomas road in Ellis
Hollow . This matter was tailed .

Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Spaulding that
the Erwin Road be set up from Town Road 60 traveling Easterly on
road 58 for a distance of approximately one mile to Etna Commun-
ity , for the Erwin Project for next year . Roll call , A11 voting YES .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded' by . Justice Spaulding that
the following polling places be designated for the coming year :
District No . 1 Town Hall , Varna
" No . 2 Houtz Hall , Etna
No . 3 Village Ha11 , Dryden
" No . 4 West Dryden Church
" No . 5 Town Office , Dryden! .
" No . 6 . Village Ha11 , ' reeville . I/
Carried and so ordered .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Councilman Baker that
$ 500 . be set up for tires and tools for the"eHwy . Dept . Roll call
vote , all voting YES . .
The next meeting will be held Tues . Sept . 3 , at Town Office .
