December 3 , 1956
The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Dryden Town Board :was held
at the Town Office Building , Monday December 3 , 1956 at 7 : 30 P . M .
P resent were Supervisor Gridley , Justices Spaulding , Whitford, Councilman
B aker , Highway Supt . Beach , and Assessor Abrams .
Justice Spaulding reported on the Road Tour og Nov. . 12 . Supervisor
Gridley , Justice Spaulding , Councilman Baker and Highway Supt . Beach
went on the road tour and reported . all Toads were O . K .
Moved by Justice Whitford , . seconded:; by • Councilman Baker that the
Y Highway bills totaling $ 763 . 76 be paid as audited . Roll call vote taken ,
All voting YES . .
Moved by Councilman Baker , seconded by Justice Spaulding that the G
G eneral bills totaling $ 540 . 33 , and the Youth Project bills totaling
$ 80 . 98 be paid as audited . Roll call vote taken , All voting YES .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Spaulding that the
First National Bank , Dryden , N . Y . be designated as a depository for
the Town of Dryden Monies for 1957 . Carried and so ordered .
The date for the Annual Town Audit was set for Dec . 28 , 1956 at 9A . M .
Moved° by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Spaulding that the
Tax Collector be Bonded the same as last Year and the- Insurance be
renewed . Roll can vote taken, All voting YES .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Spaulding that
August Theide of Freeville , R . D . 1 , and Clyde Stevens of Freeville , R . D . 2
be appointed Constables for the year 1957 . Carried .
A communication was read from Mrs . Katrina Morse regarding the
voting district at Varna being overcrowded . A discussion followed , and
the matter ordered tabled till Justice Shaw could be present .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Councilman Baker that all
Salaries hex and checks be drawn by Dec . 16 , and the books for the year
closed . Roll ; call vote taken , All voting YES .
Moved by Justice Whitford , secondeddby Justice Spaulding that $ 100 . 00
be transferred from General Fund to Item 4 of the Highway . And that $400000
be transferred from General Fund to Item 3 of the Highway . Roll call vote ,
All voting Yes . ,
Motion made by Justice Spaulding , seconded by Justice Whitford that
$ 5 , 000 . 00 be paid from the General Fund to the County Treasurer to reduce
Taxes . Roll call vote taken , All voting YES .

of officials , to Elections , ( Other expenses ) . $18 . 40 transferred
from no . 5 , Town Hall & Offices , sub-title repairs , light , heat , phone ,
to Compensation of employees . $161 . 98 transferred from Contingent
Fund to no . 6 , Annual Audit & Exam . $ 69 . 29 from Contingent Fund to
no . 7 , Title Town Clerk , sub- title ( office & other expense . & $ 24 . 00
to Compensation of Employees ® $51 . 63 transfeered from Contingent Fund
to Social Security , Town Share . $ 250 .50 from Title Assessor , ( Office .
and other ExpenseG ,to compensation of employees . $ 85 . 00 from
Contingent Fund to Miscellaneous ( Blood Tests ) . Roll call vote ,
All voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Councilman Baker ,
that Herbert Brechts application for Junk Yard License be denied . -
Carried and so ordered.

Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Spaulding
that the Supervisor be Delegate and the Town Clerk be alternate
delegate at the Association of Towns , to be held in Buffalo in Feb .
1957 . Also Highway Supt . Beach and Assessor Abrams could attend if
they so ' desired . Roll can vote , all voting Yes .
These minutes were read and approved .
The next regular meeting will be held Jan . 4 , 1957 at 7 : 30P . M .

The members of the Town Board of thetTown of Dryden met at the
Town Clerk ' s office on December 28 , 1956 at 9 : 00 A . M . for the
annual audit of the year 1956 .
Present were : Supervisor Gridley , Justices Spaulding , Shaw ;
Whitford and Councilman Baker . Justice Spaulding acting as Chairman. .
The Supervisors and the Superintendent of Highway Books were
checked , ;. found to be in order and accepted .
On completion of the audit , the meeting was adjourned .
