Justice Whitford suggested the Supervisor investigate an adding machine .
Justice Whitford reported on Junk Yards and discussion followed .
The minutes were read , corrected and approved . : The next meeting date
to be August 3 .

Aug . 3 , 1956 =
- The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board was
held at the Town Office Building , Friday evening Aug . 3 , 1956 at 7 : 30P . M .
Present were Supervisor Gridley , Justices Baker , • Spaulding ,
Shaw , and Whitford , Assessor Abrams and Highway Supt . Beach , Also
former Supervisor , Charles Downey and Rev . Robert Gibby .
Minutes , of the July meeting were read for information.
Rev . Gibby spoke to the board of the work he had done with
the school district Directory and hoping some way would be provided
to continue the Directory changes after he was gone . He also spoke
of the need of placing road signs on the Town roads outside the
villages where there were no signs . This had already been considered . si
The Board did not wish to take any action on continuing the Directory .
Supervisor Gridley commended Rev . Gibby of the fine work he had done .
Moved by Justice Shaw , seconded by Justice Spaulding that
the general bills totaling 608 . 78 and the youth commission of $ 95 . 71
be paid asa audited . Roll call vote , All voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Whitford seconded by Justice Baker that
the Highway bills totaling $6 , 787 . 91 be paid as audited . Roll ' cal1 ,
All voting YES .
Moved by Justice Baker , seconded by Justice Spaulding
that the Town Board approve the Town Clerk attending the Annual
Town Clerk School to be held in Albany , Sept . 1e , 13 , 14 . Roll call vote
All voting Yes .
Motion made by Justice Shaw that the Town Clerk write to
the Commigtbe of each planning commission , requesting the names of their
Representatives . Ellis Hollow had already sent in the list of their
Representatives .

Moved by Justice Baker , seconded by Justice Spaulding ,
that the following polling places be designated for the coming year :
District No . 1 Town Hall , Varna
No . . 2 Houtz Hall , Etna .
" No . 3 Village Hall , Dryden
" No . 4 West Dryden - Church
" No . 5 Town Office , Dryden
No . 6 Fire & Hall , Freeville
Carried and so ordered .
The Freeville firemen submitted a revised list of members .

The Town Clerk was to find out if a copy had been sent to theABoard
of Supervisors in Ithaca , if not , she was to send a copy .
