M . - Present were , Supervisor Grid. ley , Justices Baker , Spaulding , Whitford Highway Supt . Beach and Assessor Abrams . • Minutes of the June meeting were read for information . Mr . and Mrs . Roy Schendler , Mrs , Mableaulleyn and Mr . and Mrs . 4, James dock of Freese Road were present and presented a petition for the improvement of their road . Justice Whitford suggested the petition be placed on file and would be given consideration on the next road tour . Moved by Justice Spaulding , seconded byJqusti.ce Baker that the . General Bills totaling # 450 . 07 be ' paid as audited , and the Youth Project bills of 436 . 59 be paid as audited . Roll call vote . All voting . YES . Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Baker that the Highway bills totaling 43 , 538 . 86 be paid as audited . Roll call vote . All voting YES . . Moved by Justice . Spaulding , seconded by Justice Baker that the slate of Election Inspectors submitted by E . F . Brundage be - accepted . Motion carried and so ordered . Town of Dryden/ This letter was placed on file . 221 Moved by Justice Whitfford , seconded by .ustice Spaulding that 4600 . be set aside for Tires and Tools for the Highway . Dept . Roll call vote , ALL voting YES . Moved by Justice Shaw , seconded byJJ,ustice Whitford that the following Resolution be accepted and approved ; Resolved , that the Town Board of the Town of Dryden approve and authorize the formation of a Town Planning Commission , The purpose of the Planning Commission shall be to assist the Town Board in the preparation of a Zoning Ordinance for the Township including the preparation of a master plan , map and such ether matters as may be designated by the Town Board . The Planning Commission shall be made up of two members , a . elected or appointed from each of the groups or organizations chosen to represent the various areas of the Township . These areas shall be West Dryden , Etna , Varna , Ellie Hollow , Snyder Hill , Bethel Grove and such others as may be designated by the Board . The villages shall be asked to appoint representatives for coordination purposes . The members of the Planning Commission shall , at their first meeting , elect a Chairman and Secretary from the group . The meetings of the group shall be arranged to permit a member of the Town Board to be present0Meetings shall be prior to the Town Board meeting to_, permit the Board to act promptly on all matters requiring its attention . The services of the Town Attorney will be made available to the Planning Commission when requested by the Commission and approved by the Board . Roll call vote . All voting YES . A copy of the resolution shall be sent to a representative of each area mentioned . The next Board meeting will be held Tuesday , July 3 , These minutes were read , corrected and approved . Justice Whitford reported on Junk Yards and discussion followed . The minutes were read , corrected and approved . - The next meeting date to be August 3 . The meeting adjourned . Lewis Gridley , Supervisor Nellie Rice , Town Clerk Aug . 3 , 1956 - The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board was held at the Town Office Building , Friday evening Aug. 3 , 1956 at 7 : 30P . M . Present were Supervisor Gridley , Justices Baker , - Spaulding , Shaw , and Whitford , Assessor Abrams and Highway Supt . Beach , Also former Supervisor , Charles Downey and Rev . Robert Gibby . Minutes . of the July meeting were read for information. Rev . Gibby spoke to the board of the work he had done with the school district Directory and hoping some way would be provided to continue the Directory changes after he was gone . He also spoke of the need of placing road signs on the Town roads outside the . villages where there were no signs . This had already been considered . . The Board - did not wish to take any action on continuing the Directory . Supervisor Gridley commended Rev . Gibby of the fine work he had done . Moved by Justice Shaw , seconded by Justice Spaulding that the general bills totaling 608 . 78 and the youth commission of $ 95 . 71 be paid asa audited . Roll call vote , All voting Yes . Moved by Justice Whitford seconded by ' Justice Baker that the Highway bills totaling $6 , 787 . 91 be paid as audited . Roll ' call , All voting YES . Moved by Justice Baker , seconded by Justice Spaulding that the Town Board approve the Town Clerk attending the Annual Town Clerk School to be held in Albany , Sept . 1a , 4 , 14 . Roll call vote All voting Yes . Motion made by Justice Shaw that the Town Clerk write to the CommiYtte of each planning commission , requesting the names of their Representatives . Ellis Hollow had already sent in the list of their Representatives . 224 . Moved by Justice Baker , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that the following polling places be designated for the coming year : District No . 1 Town Hall , Varna " No . 2 Houtz Hall , Etna " No . 3 . Village Hall , Dryden " No . 4 West Dryden Church No . 5 Town Office , Dryden n No . 6 Fire Hall , Freeville Carried and so ordered . The Freeville firemen submitted a revised list 1/2of members .
