May 2 , 1956
The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Beard
was held at the Town Office Building Wednesday evening , May 2 ,
1956 at 7 : 30 P . M . -
Present were Supervisor Gridlep, Justices Baker , Shaw ,
Spaulding , and Whitford , and Highway Supt . Beach . Mr . Sanderson
and Mr . Sears visited the meeting .
The minutes of the A pril meetings were read for
information .
Moved by Justice Shaw , seconded by Justice Spaulding
that the General bills totaling $ 712 . 51 , and the Youth Project
bills of 0198 . 61 , be paid as audited . Roll call vote , All voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Baker
that the Highway bills totaling 533125 . 77 and the bill for the
shove1 , S16 , 450 . grand total of 419 , 575 . 77 be paid as audited .
Roll call vote , All voting YES .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Shaw
that $ 10 , 000 be transferred from General Fund to Item 3 of the
Highway . Fund . Roll call vote , All voting YES .
Highway Supt . Beach told of using the Traffic Counter
on . roads in question .
Moved by Uustice Whitford , seconded by Justice Spaulding
that the resignations of Election Inspectors , Harriet Lewis and
Mona Spaulding be accepted . Carried .
Moved by Justice Spaulding , seconded by Justice Whitford
that Veda Lumbard and Betsy Clark be appointed as Inspectors
of Eledtion to replace those resigned . Approved and carried .
Moved b4 Justice Baker , seconded by Justice Spaulding
that Mrs . Patricia Niemi be appointed as Inspector od Election .
in Dist . 4 . Approved and carried .
Sup . Gridley asked that the Town Clerk write to Chandler
Morse , askina him to present his slate of Democrat Inspectorsof
Election by June 1 . Also notify the new Inspector of . tbbeir
Inspectors
appointment .
A letter from Mrs . Frank Guidi was read stating that the
women of the Lower Creek road did desire the black top surface
on their road . All the Ladies of the road signed the letter .
The fancily of Carl A . Mott acknowledged with grateful
appreciation the flowers sent by the Town Board. .
The minutes were read , corrected and approved . The next
board meeting will be held June 6 , at 7 : 30 P . M .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded. by. Justice Shaw
that this meeting adjourn . Carried .

A : special meeting of the Dryden Town Board was held at
the home of Justice Harry Spaulding , Monday , May 21 , at 8 : 00P . M0
Supervisor Gridley , Justices Spaulding , Shaw , Baker , and Whitford .
Supt . of Highway , Beach were present .
Discussion developed regarding the Lower Creek road , and
West end road . . Shaw .
Motion made by Justice,\that the section from Russells '
Corners to Hanshaw Road be approved by the Board for
improvement under the Erwin Plan . Seconded by Justice Whitford .
Carried .
Motion made b Justice Shat that the section of the Creek
road from Etna to Russells ' Corners be approved by the Town
Board, for improvement under the Erwin Plan . Seconded by
Justice Spaulding . Carried ,

. . Motion made by Justice Baker that the 6110 miles ( West
End Road ) and the Creek road specified in Motion # 1 be set
up , if approved: by the State for improvement in the
Calendar Year 1957 .
