Present were ; Supervisor Gridley , Justice ! s , Baker , Shaw , and Spaulding , also Highway Supt . Beach . Justice Whitford was ill . The minutes of the Feb . meeting were read for information . Moved by Justice Shaw , seconded by Justice Spaulding that the General Bills totaling4194 . 23 and the Youth Project 3i11s of 0412 . 86 be paid as audited . Roll call vote , all voting Yes . Moved by Justice Baker , seconded by Justice Shaw that theHighway bi lls totaling 42 , 954 . 65 be paid as audited . Roll call vote , all voting YES , Four , 4 , bids were received for a Power Shovel for the Highway . They were opened at 8 $ 2 M . , Duetto Vustice Whitford ' s absence no action was taken . (Elide were placed on Filer - -_ _ ._ Moved by Justice Shaw , seconded by Justice Spaulding that the Bids be studied and held till a Special Meeting may b e held . A tentative Special Board meeting will be held Monday , March 12 , at 7 ' 30 Assessor Grant Abrams was present and gave a resigme of what he had accomplished since taking office February 14 . Weather permitting the annual Road Tour will be held March 22 , starting at 9 : 00 A . M . Moved by Justice Shaw and seonded by Justice Baker that the Numerical Filing System as suggested by the Assessor be approved for use for the Town of Dryden . Roll call vote , all voting YES . Moved by Justice Shaw seconded bj' Justice Baker that Grant A brams purchase the necessary equipment for his work . Roll call vote , all voting YES . Mr . Abrams was to make a file for storing new Maps . The minutes were read for approval and correction . Moved by Justice Spaulding seconded by Justice Baker that this meeting adjourn . Carried . . Nellie Rice , TowmnClerk Lewis Gridley , Supervisor . • 214 March 12 , 1956 A special meeting of the Dryden Town Board was held at the Town Office Monday evening , March 12 , 1956 , for the purpose of accepting or rejecting the bids submitted for a power shovel for the Highway Dept , Supervisor Gridley , Justices Spaulding , Shaw , and Whitford also Highway Supt , Beach were present . Mr . Schwan of Hanshaw Rd , was present to discuss the road to his trailer park . The road was extremly bad , needing immediate attention . Supt . Beach would see what he could do toward tempory repairs . The shovel bids were studied and discussed . Moved by Justice Shaw and seconded by Justice Spaulding that all bids be rejected , and that the Town Clerk advertise for sealed bids for a yard Deisel Shovel to cost in excess of $ 1 , 000 , , to be opened April 3 , at 8 ; 30 P . M . , the next regular board meeting . Roll call vote , all voting Yes , . . Motion made by Justice Spaulding and seconded by u Justice Whitford that this meeting adjourn , Carried , Highway Supt . Shipment can be made in approximately 30 days after receipt of order , and after inspecting your specification sheet , we find that we meet these specifications in every way. As an attachment , an electric starting system is available for the diesel engine as an extra at $ 250 . 00 . We respectfully urge the board to consider this item as the working area in the cab is limited . We have been advised by the factory that 9 out of 10 units are now leaving with this electric starting arrangement .
