A ;special meeting of the Dryden Town Board was held at the . •
Town Office at 7 : 30 P . M . Jan . 24 for the purpose of interviewing
applicants for the job of assessor . Supervisor Gridley , Justices •
Baker , Spaulding , Shaw , and Whitford were present .
The following applicants were present : Ray Dedrick , Carl
McKinney , Charles Baldwin , Alvord Baker , Carl Ladd , Grant Abrams .
Mr . Drew and Mr . Smith of the Psychology Dept . of "Cornell were
. present and gave tests to the applicants .

The regular monthl4 meeting of the Dryden Town Board was held
• Friday evening February 3rd 1956 at 730 PI•Z at the Town Office Bldg .
P resent were : Supervisor Gridley , Justices Baker , Spaulding , Shaw and
Whitford . Also Highway Supt . Beach .
The minutes of the January meetings were read for g information.
Moved by Justice Spaulding , seconded . by Justice Shaw , that the
general .bills totaling $ 520 . 62 and the Youth Project Bills of $ 39 . 6S— .
be paid as audited . Roll call vote taken , all voting YES .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Baker , that the
H ighway bills totaling $1 , 404 . 76 be paid as audited . Roll . call vote
taken, all voting yes . •
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Baker , that the
Town Clerk advertise for bids for i yard power shovel both diesel
. • and gas to be opened . I'Iarch 5th at 8 PM . We reserve the right to
accept or reject any or all bids . Approved and so carried .

Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Baker , that
$500 be set up for tires and tools for Highway Dept . Carried and
so ordered .
Moved by Justice Spaulding , seconded by Justice Whitford ,
that Ezra Williams be appointed deputy Highway Supt . Approved and
carried .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Shaw , that the
H ighway men be given a weeks vacation with pay . The time to be taken
is to be left up to the Highway Supt . Carried and so ordered
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that
the electric entrance to the Town Office Bldg . , be changed so as to
pass inspection. Approved and carried .
Moved by Justice Shaw , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that the
Town Clerk notify the pemple residents of the 1900 section of the ,
Slaterville Road of their change of house numbering . Carried and so
ordered .

Moved by Justice Shaw , seconded by Justice Whitford , that
Grant Abrams be appointed assessor from . Hebruary first until the
end of 1956 on a probationary period at the salary of 0500 yearly .
The appointment being made from the personal interview , test , and.
. work experience . Roll call vote , all voting yes . Supervisor Gridley
appointed Alvord Baker deputy assessor .
Moved by Justice Shaw , seconded by Justice . Baker , that the
Supervisor order the necessary maps for the assessor ' s use .
Carried and so ordered . .
Moved by Justice Shaw , seco4d by Justice Whitford , that the
Town Clerk write to applicants , of the appointment of assessor .
Carried and so ordered .
Moved by Justice Baker , seconded by Justice Whitford , that
Charles Newman be appointed Town Attorney . Carried . .
The next regular meeting of. the Town Board is to be March 5th ,
at 730 PM . .
. Minutes were read for approval and correction . Moved byJ ,
Whitfo.rd , seconded by J , Baker , that this meeting adjourn . Carried .
