TOWN BOARD MINUTES
Special Meeting 7 : 30 P . M . September 27 , 1990

A special Meeting of the Town of Danby Town Board was called to
go over the budget for the Fiscal Year 1991 .
A resolution was presented by Mildred Miller for the Board to
consider at the October 1990 Board Meeting in regard to the
Contractual Funds for the Zoning Department .
Superintendent Coddington presented the Board with financial
information related to the purchase of a new grader for the Town .

Payment of Taxes in Installments
Discussion followed in regard to the request from Tompkins County
for the Town of Danby Town Board to approve the payment of Town
and County Taxes in installments .
RESOLUTION *69 OF 1990
PAYMENT OF TOWN TAXES IN INSTALLMENTS
By Supervisor Dietrich : Seconded by Councilperson Oltz
WHEREAS , Over the objection of the Town of Danby Town 'Board the
Tompkins County Board of Representatives on August 14 , 1990
adopted Local Law #8 which provides that the County of Tompkins
shall become the tax collection agency for the purpose of
collecting real property taxes and special assessments in
installments , and
WHEREAS , Tompkins County Board Resolution # 315 directs payment
to the Town as compensation for costs associated with the
administration of the installment option in the amount of $ 1 . 00
per installment payer , and
WHEREAS , The Town Board of the Town of Danby wishes to include
payment of Town taxes subject to the conditions and terms
outlined pursuant to such local law , and
WHEREAS , The Town Board of the Town of Danby was not originally
in favor of this tax payment and that the Tompkins County Board
of Representatives has subsequently required all tax collection
1 units to conform to this method of payment . The Town Board of
the Town of Danby has evaluated the implications of separate tax
collection and considered that the benefits of intermunicipality
cooperation , uniform tax assessments and full value equalization
rates , out weigh the disincentives for acceptance of this
program , now therefore be it
RESOLVED , That the Town Board of the Town of Danby does hereby
adopt the installment option in accordance with Tompkins County
Local Law #8 of 1990 ,
RESOLVED , further , that the Town Clerk shall , upon receipt of the
. .
Collector ' s Warrant , collect the first installment of such
installment taxes , in addition to the normal collection of taxes
as directed by the Warrant for those taxpayers who do not select
the installment option ,
RESOLVED , further , that the Town Clerk is directed to forward a
certified copy of this resolution to the Clerk of the Board of
Representatives as soon as reasonably possible , and be it
further
RESOLVED , That the effectiveness of this resolution is
restricted to the 1991 tax year only .
